Frances finally said, "my brother's ship is supposed to reach port tomorrow." Frances spun stories of his brother and how close they were as children. His brother was sent on a ship to deliver some oil to another kingdom in an offer of support in case a war was to happen. I thought it was great that Elias Frances' brother was due to return home tomorrow.
I was extremely happy for him, I told him " I can't wait to meet him". The thing I did not say to Frances was how nerve racking it was that he was nonchalantly talking about war. Why had nobody told me about this war or discussed the likely possibility of it taking place. I didn't say much for the rest of the night, the war was the only thing I could process through my mind.
I needed to speak to my father and Sydney about this situation.. Frances helped me stand up from the ground, I stared out into the waves that lightly crashed against the beach's shore. We walked back up to the castle, when we got to my bedroom door Frances leaned down and planted a kiss onto my forehead.
