If I was gonna protect the people that meant from everything that was threatening them, including my father if necessary.. I yelled back at my father. "You have been lying to me since the moment I arrived here. You have been lying to the people of this kingdom since I have gotten here." He had no right to tell me what I should and shouldn't do.
I was getting fed up with him flipping stuff onto me that I did not do. My father stood intimidatingly over me. "You will act like a princess should! You need to grow up Lia, because this war is coming. The people of our country will look to you. My treun girl." he said. My father's shoulders dropped, rolling themselves forward in exhaustion.
"Azalia I did not intentionally keep these things from you. I am telling you all you need to know right now." I could not tell if my father was misunderstanding that withholding truth was still lying, or if he was actively ignoring that fact all together.. I wanted to scream at him.
