Albus

"I'm telling you, Al. They're hiding something." Lily spoke, sitting in the lounge with James and I. Everyone had gone away. All the kids took off after breakfast, one by one and mum and dad later headed out for some shopping for Christmas, leaving the three of us home per our request.

"I don't think the trial's over." James pouted with a serious note to his voice, "I think when Ted comes home, we should ask him."

"Hmm. Yeah." I nodded, "I was thinking about a solution for this."

"Have you found something, Al?" Lil perked up.

"Well, partially. But the solution I've found is to the simpler side of the case. The one about the forest is still not in my take." I sighed in defeat.

"Hey! Ted!" James called and Ted's head peeked in from a side of the door frame like a floating head.

"What're you having a conference about?" He took off his blue coat and hung it on the stand before walking in and sitting on a floor cushion by the fireplace.

"About Mum's trial. What's the update?" James asked.

"Seriously?" His brows rose.

"You promised you'd keep us updated. Besides, we are old enough to understand." I argued and he chewed the inside of his cheek in a thought process.

"I just came back for a change of clothes, I'm headed back out to the Ridge with Vic soon. We're still trying to find evidence of Aunt Ginny's innocence." He sighed.

"Then how is she home?" James asked.

"Well, I heard that Aunt Hermione managed to push the trial to until after New Year's. Till then, Aunt Ginny's out on... bail." On bail. Those words hurt more than they should've. Never thought I'd have to hear on bail for one of my parents.

"Why is this happening to her? She's been a werewolf for about, i don't know, thirty years or something and she's being treated so horribly." Lily spoke with agitation and a heavy voice.

"Look, I don't know about you guys but I think we shouldn't worry Aunt Ginny so much about this. Uncle Harry is enough as it is. Let's just give her a good Christmas and New Year's so she can be at peace when the trials happen. She has some holidays, let's ease into this." Teddy looked around, "Now, I'll be back around seven. You all better be ready with the tree and this room better be ready for our Christmas evening, okay?" He commanded in his elder authoritative voice. All three of us looked at each other and then nodded. He was right.

After Teddy left, we sat in silence and with saddened hearts.

"I still can't believe Mum is going through this for the past two weeks already." James ran fingers through his long and messy hair.

"I wish I was a werewolf. So at least I could've been with her, you know?" Lily shook her head. I blinked, refraining from explaining my idea of helping out for now.

Teddy

It hurt to watch those three dawdle so much over Aunt Ginny's situation. I wondered if dad were here, would he have been prosecuted the same? Would he be on trial the same as her? Luckily, no one at the Ministry knew that it was the notorious Ferrer Greyback who'd turned Aunt Ginny, otherwise the candle would've only grown in the papers. Uncle Harry had made all of us knowers promise to keep that specific information under the wraps. Albus, Lily and James were unaware of who had been responsible for her transformation and Uncle Harry sought it best that that remained the stagnant situation.

I wondered if Albus was onto something. I'd seen him last night, sleeping in a pile of books around one in the night and had woken him to offer him to go to bed. He, however, promised to be short. Of course, I knew that was a lie. Only exhausted, I chose bed and knew Albus preferred his studying in solidarity. It was only a fact that when Albus was onto something, he always managed to go through. The biggest example was his choice to choose time travelling to save a life he knew nothing about.
