Albus

He'd used the chimney in the house to get us to his office. We'd been there before when we begged him to show it to us and by the analysis of the mess around and lack of decoration, I could tell Teddy wasn't much into the idea of settling in. He liked the field and it was a worrisome idea. He'd been a bit different when he'd graduated. It was all that he punished himself with. Victoire was one topic but his argument with mum and dad to move once was another. He'd asked if he could leave since he felt it better his fight should've been his to fight now. Dad had lost it. That was an understatement truly. He was mad enough to not talk to Teddy for a week which was when Teddy apologized and dad'd said that he had no problem with us growing up and wanting to leave home at some point. He just hated that Teddy had asked to keep his problems his own.

We fixed ourselves and followed him out of the office, only to bump into Victoire.

"What is this?" She looked about.

"The kids... have an idea." He spoke, embarrassed.

"The kids..." She confirmed and I crossed my arms, "More like Albus."

"Hey, I'm a thinker too." James argued.

"I know but this spells trouble all over it."

"Funny." I frowned and she smiled.

"Mind if I tag along?" She asked.

"Not at all, m'lady!" James stepped up and we followed Teddy to the elevators. I clutched the file in my fingers and my throat was tightening.

"Al." James whispered.

"Hmm?"

"The test. Have you prepped?"

"Yeah. But don't worry, I think they're gonna give us time to prep for it." I fixed my collar, "But honestly James, do you really want to try..."

"Look, Al, the more the options, the better." He explained and I nodded. He was right. The Ministry would only be convinced if there were more than one candidate to apply from the family. Mum's siblings were too old to do so and the left over were just James and I.

"Department of Mysteries." The elevator spoke and the railings moved away for our entrance. Teddy cleared his throat and all four of us stepped into the black tiled corridor with him behind us.

"Our court room..." He gulped hard.

"Edward, stop being such a child." Victoire spoke, "That way, guys. The one straight across and down the corridor,"

"Yeah." Teddy cleared his throat and started walking ahead of us, fixing his black robe. We walked behind him and Victoire behind us. Truth be told my heart was ready to break out of my rib cage as well. The nervousness was extreme enough to weaken my knees and tighten my chest.

We can do this.

My brain kept mouthing on to me. Finally, Teddy knocked on the door and the doors of the court room were pulled open for us. One of the aurors came to talk but I recognized him immediately. Uncle Louis' eyes widened. I bit my lip and he gave Teddy a sharp eye. Teddy whispered something and Uncle Louis' sharp jaw eased slightly. He exhaled a loud puff and moved aside. A hand tightened in mine and I realized Lily was holding my hand. I gave it a squeeze and she nodded.

Uncle Louis made us wait and walked away. James stood on my empty side and we stood as if ready to present ourselves. I released Lily and she walked to Victoire.
