Lily
I shivered, dropping on the chair in the lounge. Things were such a mess, at least they had been. Much had been solved. Albus finished his training in the past month and was now a proper Animagus. James had fully recovered and so had Adrian. I was aware that Mason and Jason were dating now since I'd caught them... by accident while talking about it. I was happy for everyone and sitting on the sidelines, like a sad puppy for all those who were sad.
What I was doing in the kitchen was the setup for Dad and Jason's birthday. It wasn't going to be a big celebration but our close family was such a large unit that it automatically turned into one. The lounge was turned into a hall once again with chairs around two large long tables. One for the kids and the other for the elders. Nearing the end of July meant the close of the new year. A third year for me, meaning the last of James. So unbelievable already.
"Lily, did you do this?" Mum beamed, setting the silver dome pots in the middle of the tables in a straight line.
"I told you, I know landless levitation now." I chuckled and she winked with a grin.
"What's on your mind? I've been noticing you've been sitting here a while."
"Just thinking about next year. I'm gonna apply for Quidditch."
"What? Really?" She gasped with a wide smile.
"Yeah, seeker position. Madame Hooch said I had an eye for it. I've noticed I've been able to keep an eye on the snitch quite a few times." I sighed, "What do you think?"
"Hmm. That does sound like you have a sharp eye. If you are interested, I can take you with me next weekend when the girls are practicing."
"Yes!" I jumped, "Yes, I want to. Ugh, it'd be so cool!"
"Aha. Yes, that would be." She laughed and turned to the room, "Okay, I'm thinking Jason's cake on the kid's table and Harry's will be on the elders'. We'll cut Harry's first and then Jason."
"I bet Jason will be shocked." I chuckled.
"Yeah. I'm glad he's living with the Murphys right now. Mason looked like he'd stay here if we didn't let Jason go with him."
"Pfft. I know."
"Still. They're young." She hummed, "You kids."
"Haha." I giggled, "I knew it! You knew it too!"
"Yeah, those boys aren't exactly subtle, you know." She shook her head, "I'm happy for them."
"I heard Henris' trial is today."
"Mhmm. Your father prohibits me from being there. So I'm sitting here, doing this."
"Love the enthusiasm, mum."
"You know what I mean." She plopped across from me.
"I just hope this roller coaster ride ends after this trial." I dropped my head and she pursed her smile.
"I know." She ran her fingers through her bobcut hair.
"You're stressing too much.." I started but she raised a finger as her phone rang and quickly answered.
"I'll be there." She stood up, "Lily, lock the doors, I'll set up the spell."
"What?" My heart paced, "All of a sudden?"
"Do not call your father. James is at home, stay with him and do not contact anybody unless necessary, okay?"
"Mum!" I ran after her. The moment we reached the main floor, we ran into James.
