Mason
Candice ditched me the moment we reached the Potters house and when I asked aunt Ginny, she told me to go to the lounge where I could probably find Albus. James was apparently out to meet some of his friends who lived in London and Lily was nowhere to be seen. I was so sleep deprived because I was just expecting something I knew would be completely impossible. Jason would never contact me again. I could still remember his face when he seemed so torn, walking away. Every time I saw that face, I felt guilt and anger would bubble up some more. I did remember the talk between him and Albus about him staying with the Potters but wasn't sure whether he took him up on the offer. If anything, I didn't know if I would see him at the house.
"Mason?" I froze, hearing that voice. Turning away from my phone, I found him in person, wearing a loose t-shirt and jeans. His hair not set like they usually were and he seemed so drained. As he walked into the lounge, I noticed the large scar on his forehead.
"What the hell happened to your face?" I couldn't hold the lunge I took, holding his face in my hands, "It's so damn big! Did you transform again?" I hissed.
He was smiling.
"Why are you smiling?" I growled and he chuckled.
"I thought you'd never talk to me again."
"Are you insane? You still care about that? Look at your face! What the hell?" I was getting irritated now.
"I'm sorry, Mason." He blinked, wiping his face, form the tear I hadn't see falling, "I got scared. I didn't think you'd actually come to help me that night..."
"And you thought Albus would?" That's right. He is here. In Albus' house, "Which begs the question... what are you doing here?"
"Al-Albus offered to let me stay with the Potters for the summer." He gulped, "Remember?" Right, slipped my mind there for a second.
"Hmm... guess Albus would come for you."
"What has gotten into you?" He came ahead, "Albus is my friend. The first guy friend I've had in a very long time. What's wrong with that?"
"Nothing." I sighed, "Anyway, I'm sorry about Chris. I told him off."
"He isn't good for you, Mason. He's a bad guy. I don't like his attitude." He gulped.
"What happened to your head?" I ignored his concern.
"I hit my head against the bed while transforming." He slumped, "Since it happened while I was changed, I think the scar stays. I'm thinking about keeping my hair down from now on." He chuckled, "What do you think?"
"Don't do that."
He didn't ask.
"That face. That calls for my attention. You don't need me."
"So, I can't have more friends? Seriously?" He seemed so hurt... again, "Actually... erm, sorry." He sighed.
"Jason."
"Ha. Er, I.." He was hesitating, seeming confused now. In fact, his feet were starting to move backwards. I noticed they were pale and bare. Did this guy have no blood in his body at the moment? In a school uniform, he looked so big and strong and strip all that off and you'd see a scrawny man, shy of his own presence.
"Jason, I'm sorry." I surrendered. I talked to him first because I couldn't see him hurt and now I couldn't imply the opposite attitude towards him.
He looked up and I saw something I'd never seen on his red face. Is he upset again?
I opened my mouth to say something again but he didn't let me finish. Bloody hell, he didn't even let me start. Because now, the once shy and scrunched away Jason McDill was kissing me. I'd kissed Chris before but that wasn't this strong. He pecked me and never went deeper but this guy was trying his best, waiting for me to respond. But I was too stunned to even start somewhere. When he moved back, I saw him panting already, stumbling backwards and away from me.
"I..." He gulped, "I'm sorry."
Say something, Mason. Say something. English! You're good at it. Speak! This battle kept raging in my head as he left the room, leaving me rooted to my spot.
He's sorry...?
Does he think I need time to forgive him?

"I'm so happy Jason's here!" Candice beamed, sitting on the chair next to Lily. Jason was sitting next to her, staring at his tea.
"Come to think of it, Jason, you've lost weight." Aunt Jenna stared worriedly.
"We've made progress to three meals a day." Aunt Ginny winked and Jason chuckled. He was receiving all this care from these people. Albus really did a good thing by bringing him here, "Jason is helping me prove that I'm a good cook."
"Mrs. Potter is a good cook." Jason spoke up kindly and Aunt Ginny smiled.
"I'm Miranda Murphy. Mason's mother." Mum introduced herself and I could've sworn Jason's smile faltered and then he just blushed.
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Murphy. Mason has been a really good friend to me." He smiled. My chest burned but I couldn't look away.
"Jason is staying with us for the summer. We're headed to the burrow day after tomorrow and he's going to come with us. You should let the kids come someday as well. They always enjoy their time at the burrow."
"Ah, we actually barely ever hung out at Ginny's." Mum laughed, "I was always coming back and forth from Jenna's place."
"Ginny when does your season start?" Aunt Jen asked.
"Oh, the British league starts in two and a half weeks. That's why we're going to the Burrow so the kids can stay there. Harry wants to come with me to Wales for my meets but I'm not sure..." She sighed.
"Well, I mean, I could always come along." Albus shrugged and Aunt Ginny squinted at him, "I mean, that's what I'm trained for."
"Albus, you're still under training."
"So what? I know a few things. Besides, I'll only be using my form to protect you. There will be no foul done."
"Yes, but it's risky. Not to mention, boring." She chuckled, "I'll be coming back and forth to the Burrow but what will you do while I'm busy?"
"I-I could go along." Jason suggested and Albus cocked a brow.
"Well, how about that?" Albus agreed rather quickly and I gulped.
"I'll think about it." Aunt Ginny sighed. Albus seemed proud of success and Jason smiled along.
