Harry

"Is Jenna here?"

"Yeah. She's with Ginny." Eddie gulped, leaning by a chair's arm in my office.

"Good." I was terrified of having a one on one conversation with Ginny.

"She'll come around." Eddie blinked, "My aunt did."

"Yours did because you were an apprentice. My sons have a free choice."

"Harry, they really don't." Eddie reasoned, "Albus was right. The responsibility would've been offered either way and the thought of Ginny being in a dark room, all alone for an entire week, crawls on my nerves as well."

It did to me. My heart sunk and ached when that thought dawned on me. She already had the toughest of weeks and I had to keep watch throughout and the fact that she would be made to do it in a confined space all alone, gave me the chills as well. Not her. Not my Ginny. But she was the most against Albus and James' choice. She didn't want this. I couldn't stop it however. I knew my sons could handle this. I'd trained them and they were smart on their own as well.

"Ginny will hate me for the rest of her life. Let's just pray I'm still married after this."

"Harry, you are overthinking this."

"Eddie, what do you think Jenna would've done?"

"She would've been pissed off till the moon ended but she won't leave me. And neither would Ginny. She's mad but in time, she'll see reason."

"Right now, I don't see reason either, Ed."

"Harry, you cannot sign up. You've surpassed the age to apply. Teddy's not registered as your son and that leaves your kids. Lily is underage and Albus and James fit the profile. There really were two options and this one is the best one. You need to trust your sons. I've never seen them so determined on something. I think you two should be proud and get them ready for the upcoming battles."

"Of course I'm proud of my boys, Eddie. I'm also terrified. I remember Ginny telling me about your struggles."

"Yeah. And that lasted just a few months and now it's as easy for me as a stroll in a park." He shrugged.

"After you've turned forty."

"Technically, I'm thirty-eight." I deadpanned and he dropped his head, "Sorry. I'll stop."

"Go check on them." I waved a hand. He tapped my shoulder and walked away. I dropped on my chair and laid my head back, feeling more exhaustion settling in. Things seemed messy and confused right now and I couldn't help but wonder what I'd have done if my mum was a werewolf and my dad wasn't an animagus. Would I have stepped in like this? Undoubtedly. I would've done it without a second thought.

Which is why I was letting James and Albus do it. I'd seen determination, and surety in their eyes. They were prepared and I had faith in both of them. I wasn't sure which one would succeed but I hoped whoever did, could take good responsibility of their form.

"You don't look good." My eyes snapped open and it was Lily.

"Don't feel so good either, kid." I sighed.

"I'm sorry we didn't tell you dad." She spoke with twiddling thumbs.

"I know." I licked my lips, "How's Ginny?"

"With Aunt Jenna. Aunt Hermione's here as well."

I nodded.

"You know, I asked her once."
