Albus

I stared at my dress shirt. The white collar straightening around my neck. The affair was a formal. Not very much so like a ball but formal enough to wear dress shirt and fancy dresses. My dress shirt was a good fit around my growing figure and I quite admired the fact that mum could find a good fit. My pants weren't too long this time and my shoes perfect and black. I couldn't fix my hair for the life of me and was ready to leave them as they were.

"At least make your hair, Al." I turned and through the window of my door frame was a face floating in. Candice's hair flowed like a curtain with a slightly made up make up with dark lips and dressed eyes.

"I can't. It's took messy." I snickered.

"Just use a damn comb." She snickered, showing herself entirely, almost making my jaw drop. Stunningly, she was dressed in an off-shoulder, tight full sleeves dress that was fitting around her torso and flared in a plain black skirt from waist down to her knees. Her feet were in black heels and she brought her hair to one shoulder. My smile widened when I found the brooch pinned on the left side of chest by the neckline.

"Woah." I couldn't help the gasp.

"Merry Christmas." She shrugged sweetly and I pursed my lips, clearing my throat, "What?"

"You don't look horrible." I tried and she laughed. Walking ahead to me, she picked up the comb and gave it to me.

"You don't either. Oh, and... I've got a surprise for you. So you might need to erm... clean up for that." She pointed out.

"I know Scorpius is coming, Candice." I whispered and she giggled.

"It's more surprising. Just get ready, Potter." She murmured and I squinted at her.

"It better be something I like."

"Yeah and everyone knows how difficult it is to impress you, right?"

"Yep." I crossed my arms and she shook her head.

"Albus looks so adorable." We heard and Scorpius stood in the door wearing a black waist coat with same colour slacks under and white dress shirt. His hair were dressed elegantly, slightly puffed, and his height only seemed to grow by the day.

"He looks meh." Candice giggled, walking back and he raised his elbow. Stringing her arm through, she stood by the door with him.

"Hurry mate. Everyone's here. You know my dad. He won't stay past ten and it's already eight. Get on with it already."

"My hair." I stared in the mirror and ran the comb through, slightly setting them with a side part, though they remained shabby. Once given up, I cocked my head and walked with them but Scorpius froze, bumping Candice in his back and me into her. We peeped over Scorpius' shoulder and he was frozen at the sight of Rose who was dressed in a dress, almost the same as Candice's, except she had floral lace all over with short flared sleeves on the edge of her shoulders. Her short red hair wavy and put to one side as well.

"That better not be my surprise. Watching Scorpius fawn over my cousin." I mumbled in Candice's ear. She gave me a flat look.

"R-Rose..." Scorpius mustered and cleared his throat.

"I came for Candice." She spoke.

"Who's that?" Scorpius answered, still dazed and Candice smacked his back.

"That brunette sandwiched between you and your best friend." She pointed out with crossed arms.

Scorpius was still at a short for words.
