Albus
"It's late." I fell off my levitation to the floor but didn't reach impact. Hanging upside down, I looked at Candice standing with her wand, pointing at me and Scorpius beside her with crossed arms.
"I had to finish practice." I gulped.
"Well, we have someone who wants to try and help somehow." Scorpius smirked.
"Huh?"
He moved, and Jason walked in. He made my blood boil. Because of him, Candice rarely ever had time for us. He was cocky and arrogant and probably now smug about having Candice. I didn't see any purity in this guy.
"Why a-" I started but then saw Candice smiling at him and then when her eyes roamed to me, I called myself to a bit of ease, "What erm, what?" Crap, I really don't even know the words to say here.
"Yeah, I... I don't know what I'm doing here either." Jason gulped.
"You, monsieur, are here to help my friend with his wandless stuns." Candice spoke over his shoulder, and I tightened my fist. How could she believe that she could just bring anyone to help me? I didn't need anybody's help.
"No." The word left my lips before the drive of control could take over.
Candice and Scorpius lost their smile while Jason blinked.
"Erm, look, I'd love to help, but... I really don't know what to do here." He turned and cupped Candice's cheek, diverting her lost expression at me to himself, "He'll be okay. Look at him."
I frowned further. Is he mocking me?
"Albus." He turned, standing in front of her, "This is the moment you strategize your plan. Your own. Just remember, Candice, Scorpius, Rose can't help you. The ultimate hours before a battle are a sorcerer's own."
"Yeah, how would you know?" I clenched my fist, gaining an urge to take him on.
He only smirked lightly, as if a taunt.
"Just read it in a book somewhere." He shrugged and sighed, "Anyway, good luck." He nodded and looked at Candice over his shoulder. He pressed his chin over her head, and she shut her eyes. My chest tightened at the level of comfort in her eyes. Bending a little, he kissed the side of her head and silently met her eyes. Her stiff shoulders fell in ease, and as she relaxed, I lost my composure.
"Get out." I spoke up just as he disappeared, leaving the other two with me.
"He lef-"
"I meant you." I bit out firmly, "Leave, Candice."
She had an expression mixed with confusion and hurt.
"Albus." Scorpius warned.
"Leave it." Candice tapped his arm, "I know I crossed a line this time, Albus. I'm...I'm sorry." She raised her pale hands in a small surrender. I almost wanted to stop her but watched her disappear anyway.
"Pfft. What mantra did he whisper in her ea-" I started but couldn't finish since the blow on my cheek made me swallow the rest away.
"What in the hell is wrong with you?" Scorpius huffed, holding his tightened fist that'd once been on my cheek a couple of seconds ago, "You hurt her!"
"She had no right bringing him here!"
"She has every right! She's been running circles with Rose and myself. We've been looking for a thousand ways to make sure you excel at in everything you've learned. She found out that Jason had some extra training in wandless combat and wanted him to teach you the stinging jinx. She didn't even tell him why! And guess what, the guy agreed."
