Disclaimer: THIS IS A PIECE OF FAN-FICTION, DERIVED FROM THE ORIGINAL WORKS OF HARRY POTTER SERIES BY J.K. ROWLING.
Harry
The trial went rather smoothly. It almost felt eerie at how carefully clean it was. No random calls to Jason, no threats, a frantic Henris, and a struggling plea to be innocent yet proven guilty. He did threaten Jason to lose what he loved most which made the boy a little uncomfortable. So I took them back to my office to head home. But when we entered my office, we paused at a snoring Ginny.
She was sitting on my couch with an elbow on the armrest, supporting her face with a fist. Albus and Jason stayed out, staring as I made my way to sit on a knee by her legs.
"Gin?" I tapped her head and lazily, she opened her eyes.
"Harry." She acknowledged and pulled away, stretching her arms back. Sniffling, she found the boys and they were smiling in judgment, "Everything went smoothly?" She asked.
"Yeah, a little too smoothly." Albus added.
"Yeah, and we don't like that, do we?" She blinked and I stood up, "Anyway, it wasn't as smooth on the outside as we expected."
"What?" Our alert was expected yet I was bracing for something worse.
"Mason was kidnapped while you were in there."
"No..." Jason whimpered, "So it was true..."
"Don't worry, he's okay. We got him back in one piece." She quickly responded with a nod and Albus blew out a breath.
"Why didn't I know of this?" I asked.
"They asked for myself and his highness. We put our heads together and currently his highness is at our place with Mason." She rubbed her temple, "Which brings me to my point. Albus and Jason, go home. Make sure he's okay. I need to talk with your father."
I looked at them and they nodded.
"Thank you, Mrs. Potter." Jason spoke. She gave a small smile, nodding and letting him disappear in green flames with Albus.
"Here." I brought her a glass of firewhiskey in my office. She thanked me and I took a spot beside her, holding her knee, one folded above the other.
"I want your help keeping the man who kidnapped Mason safe."
"... what?" Out of all the things, I wasn't expecting her to say that.
"I know I sound weird so just hear me out." She dropped the glass on the table and rubbed her temples again, "The kid who kidnapped Mason, worked alone. He's a twenty-four years old assistant of Henris'. It's curious that he worked alone and thought could take out both myself and his highness. I mean we're both high-ranked Apprentices but Noah knows that. He didn't seem surprised when his highness mentioned his stature. Plus, he challenged royalty. How compulsive do you have to be to do that with no means to success?"
"That does sound reckless. But why do you want to protect him?"
"He's one of them. A Gargolem."
"A Gargolem with a conscience." I mumbled, "That does sound good enough to protect him."
She looked at me, not surprised but smiling.
"Yeah. The issue is the crown. They won't let this slide. I don't want you to use your power for this but... I need you to tell me what to do." She looked up, "I just want you to tell me what I can say or what steps I should take to keep Noah safe."
"Ginny."
"Harry, you didn't expect to come to his highness with me, did you?"
"Yeah... I guess not." I slumped. "Honestly, the best you can do is talk to him first. To drop the charges. If he doesn't, then you defend Noah as his defendant. You'll be appointed a lawyer to help you and if he doesn't help then you have to do it on your own. Which means you need evidence of what you're supporting. Basic Magic Defence Law practice for citizens."
