"Where were you?" I heard a snap entering the Slytherin Commons. For some reason, I was staring at my hand.
"Eh?" I looked up at Scorpius, who was near to glaring and probably throwing a stun at me.
"Where were you? I was going crazy sick over you. What were you thinking? Where have you been?"
"Merlin, breathe already Scorpius." I whispered in the empty place, "I was just taking a walk when Can found me and told me you were looking for me."
"Well, she was too. How come you're not nauseous?"
"Huh?"
"She promised to jinx you."
"You lot plot against me behind my back?" I plopped on a couch, warming up to the fire.
"She does. Man, she's got some fire to her. How did she not end up in Slytherin? There is nothing Hufflepuff about Candice Macy Gideon." He ran fingers through his hair and scoffed. I could laugh at his predicament regarding her.
"Careful Scorpius, you sound scared."
"That's 'cause I am!"
A snort popped out of my nose.
"It's Candice!" I laughed, "She's tiny, and cheery and adorabl-" The moment froze and Scorpius cocked a brow.
"Hmm. Well, she is adorable." Scorpius rubbed his jaw.
I gulped away.
"You know, I've only got eyes for my Rose but Candice really stands out." He pointed out, "I mean, just the other day, Gatis was inquiring about her. I think he likes her."
I nodded.
"But she's dating Mason."
What is wrong with me right now?
"You didn't hear?" He straightened, "They broke up."
"H-Huh? When? Why?"
"Oh, it was nothing brutal. They just didn't act like boyfriend girlfriend, you know? They sought it best to just be the way they were before." He shrugged, "I personally think that's a smart decision. They're both passionate and deserve to be with someone who's the same."
"Spoken like a true creep in love." I grinned.
"I worry for you, Al. Who's ever gonna get a chance with that attitude?"
"I prefer solitude. I have a lot of things on my plate at the moment." I ran fingers through my hair, suddenly making note that that was the hand that I'd been staring at.
"Al, trust me..."Scorpius chuckled, "You really don't."
I was confused but I let it slip because of the tiredness growing on me.
Candice Gideon?
Huh! No way.

I was a little late to the Great Hall and searched for Scorpius by the Slytherin table. There was no sign of him there which meant he was in the Hufflepuff's line. Though we had more friends in Gryffindor, we couldnt sit there because some of the students there were overflowing with ideas of narcissism.
We still were not much in welcome with the Gryffindors or Ravenclaws but Hufflepuff, being the humblest of all, didn't mind much.
I found them all crowded in the end, nearest to the teacher's table and headed straight. Candice was sitting with Lil and Dominique, fawning over some article in the Daily Prophet and Scorpius was on the opposite side with Mason, Rose, Hugo, Louis, Beth, Cynthia and Fred. The whole crowd was there. I looked for spots and chose the open one next to Candice.
