Hunter and yourself are both in time square to perform and you're very nervous since its your first time to perform on New Year's Rockin Eve and nervous to meet Hunter. You walk to the stage and hold your coat against yourself from the cold New York weather. You bump into someone and blush, "I'm so sorry!" You say over the crowd.
"Don't worry about it." You lock eyes with the man to see it was Hunter Hayes, making you blush harder. "Oh hey, I love your music." He says with a grin.
"I love yours too!"
"It's your first time here right?"
You nod and smile, "It's my second, the nerves are still there."
"You look like you're holding up real well."
"Thanks, Hunter." You giggle.
"You're welcome."
"But seriously, I have no idea what to do." You look at Hunter, "I'm so lost."
"Don't worry, just follow any of the million stage hands around here. They're all connected, they'll get you where you need to go."
"Thanks again." Your knees knock together and you know it's not just because of the cold. You try to calm down the rising panic in your stomach. Hunter studies your face for a second then smiles.
"Don't worry, if you slip on stage just turn it into a crazy dance move, no one will notice."
You turn and gape at him. You never thought of tripping, that was the least of your worries.
"I'm kidding." Hunter clarifies when he sees the terror overtake your face.
Someone walks up to you and asks you to follow them. Now you are terrified almost to the point of passing out.
"Look, I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to scare you. You'll do fine I promise."
You nod and swallow. Hunter reaches out and takes your hand, squeezing it and letting it go before you are lead away. It's showtime.
You swallow again as you make your way up onto the stage, trying to remain calm. You smile slightly at the handful at the front who see you, cheering. You wave and move into position, trying to get your nerves in check. All of a sudden you hear Ryan (yes, as in Seacrest) in your ear introducing you. You smile and you hear the band start as you grip your mike, bringing it to your mouth. "How are you New York, let me see your hands!!" You start to let your nerves slip away as you start to sing, seeing Hunter on the side watching you with a big grin. You smile at him and get into your performance.

As you finish you accept the applause and cheering. You thank the crowd and leave the stage. You see Hunter standing at the bottom of the stage. "I didn't sl-" your foot misses the step and you fall down the last few stairs, straight into Hunter's arms.
He's laughing. After a second to recover you are too. He stands you back up.
Right before he takes the stage you look at him, an evil glint in your eye. "Don't slip!" You call.
He looks back at you, that same mischievous look on his face as you are sure is on yours. "If I do I'll know who to blame. Find me later and I'll get even!"
You nod, grinning like an idiot.
Hunter's performance goes well... until just about the end.
In one of his crazy leaps he lands on a cord and ends up back down on the stage. You gasp. But he jumps right up and laughs, not even missing a note. You cheer along with the rest of the crowd. Finally he finishes, you sneak off, not going too far but if he wants to get even he'll have to find you first.
You walk through the crowd and try to blend in but with everyone wanting pictures and autographs, it leaves you stuck. Hunter sees you and walks over but gets pulled into the crowd as well. Seeing this as a good enough time to escape, you excuse yourself and hurry along the line but not too rushed. You can hear the crowds excitement of the ball start to drop any second. You look back to see Hunter looking for you, making you grin.
The crowd thins as you move away from the excitement of people. Hunter will be stuck for a while, he doesn't like ignoring a single fan, you know that we'll enough. Unfortunately people are still stopping you and asking for pictures and autographs. You don't like disappointing anyone either.
As you finish up signing a little girl's phone case you feel a hand on your back.
"Hunter!" You stand and spin, he's facing you, his coat collar is turned up and his scarf is pulled to one side. His hair is messed up, he must have been in quite a hurry. But why would he be in a hurry to get to you?
"I'm sorry you fell down on stage." You say, looking at your feet to hide a smile, hands clasped behind your back.
"Well, I seem to remember something about payback, and I've come to collect."
He lunges at you and you dodge away, managing to escape his grasp. You both laugh like children. People are looking at you like your drunk, you want to tell them you're not.
"Come on, don't you want to find out what happens when I catch you?" Hunter says through a laugh-labored breath.
"No." You giggle in reply. Dodging off into the crowd.

.
"ONE MINUTE!" .
.
Hunter's determined to get you as you twist and turn from his grasp, "(y/n)!"
.
.
. "45!" .
.
.
You smirk moving through the crowd with "Excuse me"'s and "Pardon me" 's. .
.
.
"30!"
.
.
.
You look back at Hunter, seeing his coat and scarf moving in his haste to catch you. .
.
.
"20!" .
.
.
You look up at the ball to see it slowly dripping to the big '2015', making you slow down and hands grasp your waist.
.
.
. "15!" .
.
.
You gasp and Hunter moves in front of you.
.
.
. "10!" .
.
.
"Caught you." .
.
.
"9!" .
.
"8!" .
.
"7!" .
.
"That you did. What are you going to do for payback, Hayes?" "5!" .
.
"4!"
.
. "3!" "2!" "1!" "This.." as he presses his lips against yours as the crowd cheers "Happy New Year", making you feel weak and butterflies erupting in your stomach. These weren't like when you were about to perform, no, not at all. You wouldn't mind having them in your stomach all the time.
He breaks away and presses his forehead against yours, brushing your hair from your face because if the chilly New York wind, "Happy New Year, (y/n). Would you be mine?" "Happy New Year, Hunter. I'd never be more happier."
