You didn't mean to break his guitar, it just kind of happened... You stare at Hunter's acoustic FTLOM guitar as it sits on the ground in 2 pieces. Sure he's had this thing forever but it is special and he had it on display in his studio for a reason. You remember how he took it with you the very first time you went on a date. He sang Wanted to you while you watched the daylight slide into night. A tear drops and you hastily wipe it off of the guitar. It holds a lot of memories for you too, you wish you would have listened when Hunter told you not to clean in here today. You run your fingers over the broken guitar. You get more and more emotional as you stare at it. You know he'll be so upset with you. You have nothing to say about it because even now, you are speechless. You swallow hard and get a feeling of dread when you hear Hunter call your name. He's home. You don't answer and you look up seeing him in the doorway. He had stopped in mid-sentence, looking at the guitar. You're dead.

"WHAT HAPPENED?!" He yells, the emotion on his face is complete horror.

"I-I can explain.... See, I was..."

"Don't bother!" He walks over and kneels down across from you, fingers brushing over the guitar in a loving manner. "Get out." He says it so softly that you almost don't hear it.

"What?"

"I said get out!" His hands and jaw clench and you flee, tearing through the house and up to the bedroom. You throw yourself into the bed and cry, tears staining the pillow and breath catching in your throat. How could you have been so stupid? You think about how he yelled, how he looked at you with anger and disgust. It just makes you cry harder.

You can't do anything right, you think to yourself. You sit up and you're scared to leave the room to face the wrath he has over one of his most prized possessions. You get up and grab a little angel statue your grandmother gave you before she passed. You write a note to him, if he'll read it if he's not mad enough and from what you've seen he's nothing short of murderous. You tell him even though you can't fix his guitar if he's mad enough at you, then break the statue because an eye for an eye right? A prized possession for prized possession. You leave it where he can see it before fleeing from the house quietly and getting in your car.

Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe it's guilt. You return to the wooded area by the river, where Hunter and you finished your first date. "(Y/n) I've had an amazing time." He said as he smiled at you. "Same here." You blushed, not used to seeing him look at you like that. "Hey, I wanna show you something." He got up and went to his car, taking something out of a case. You could hear the snaps and then a slight scraping sound as he took whatever was inside out. He walked back over you and you saw the firelight glint off of the guitar which he held like a precious gem.

"Can I touch it?" You whispered. He smiled and nodded.

Your fingers grazed over the strings, the words which look written in haste but you came to find out he was painstakingly carful when actually doing it.

Your mind snaps out of the memory when a car door slams. You turn your eyes from the lake. You see Hunter making his way over to you and you turn back to the lake. You didn't look at him long enough to see if he was still angry. You wipe at your eyes, his angry and disgusted look still imprinted in your mind. You kick at the gravel beneath the bench you sit on. You see from the corner of your eye him sit down on the other end of the bench, holding something in his hands. Nothing is said, the ripples off the lake only heard.

You can't bring yourself to look at him, not even for a second. You sit in silence, you hold back a sniffle for as long as you are able but finally let it out. "Hunter, I'm sorry." You say quietly.

He doesn't respond. "It was a mistake. An accident." You finally look over at his hands in time to see a flash of something white, it's your statue. As you watch a quick glimmer falls onto the porcelain and you look up at Hunter's face, he leans forward with tears falling freely. Your heart breaks. You did this to him, how could you ever forgive yourself forget about Hunter's forgiveness.
