You had gone to a few Hunter concerts and have become good friends with Hunter. The last concert you went to he asked for your number, "Cause it would be good to have when I need a little advice." You hadn't told your friends or the hayniac friends you made on social media, you wanted this to be special. He had proposed an idea and you had immediately agreed to it, it was to send funny pictures and postcards to each other. A really nice penpal that your crush had grown so close to love but you didn't want to jinx it. You were out sitting on your back porch steps, finishing your new letter for Hunter when you heard a car pulling into the drive. Now, who could that be?
In the fading light you see a giant, shiny black car moving towards the house. You cap your pen and carefully lay the paper aside, standing and dusting yourself off. There's a crink in your neck and you realize just how into that letter you were, when did it get this dark out? The car rolls to a stop and after a few seconds a form springs out from the drivers door. "Can I help you?" You call, waiting to see who it belongs to before you approach.
"I don't know, I was hoping for a hug and maybe a hello."
"Hunter!" You race out to where he stands, arms thrown wide to welcome you into his embrace. You pull away and look at him in confusion, "what are you doing here?"
"Well..it started when I got the news I was off for a week and well..I wanted to get a hug instead of a letter in the mail. Not to say I don't like getting them, by the way. So..here I am." He opens his arms wide and you hug him again.
"I was just in the middle of writing too!"
You laugh and he chuckles, "Come on. Lead me inside and tomorrow..I expect a tour of your quaint little town."
You laugh and nod, "Of course, of course, come on."
You led him to the back porch and you grab your things but he takes them, "Nope, I've got them. I'm sure I'll read it once we're settled inside. Let's meet the parents." You swallow, nodding. This was gonna be something.
Your parents knew who it was trailing behind you through the door, not like you ever shut up about him, but its so unexpected your mom screams and drops her book and your dad's eyes pop almost clear out of his head.
"Mom... Dad, this is Hunter... Hunter this is-"
Your mom cuts you off by flying off of her chair and rushing to welcome him to your home.
"Uh... I'll be right back." You take off up the stairs, truth be told having Hunter hang with your parents for 5 minutes while you take down all of the posters and pictures of him will be a lot less embarrassing.
You've gotten to the last wall and are being careful not to rip your favorite poster when you hear a chuckle from behind you, "well well, what do we have here?" You turn and see him leaning against your door frame, your cheeks flame as you search for the words.
"I..uh.." You're not facing him and hold tight to the poster, not to damage it but so you don't face him. You clench your eyes tightly, cheeks flushed. You don't know what to say and the awkward silence fills the room when you finally move to turn around, your back hits a body. His body and your poster falls to the floor, making you open your eyes as you see it fly to the floor.
"(Y/n)..?"
"Sorry.." You mumble in apology, looking at the floor. You don't know if it's for bumping into him or for the posters, but you're scared you're back to your position as a fan. Just a fan.
"Well, this isn't fair, you've gotten to see my face every day. But I'm stuck staring at pieces of paper covered in your hand writing." He's grinning decidedly.
