The stage looms in front of you as you stand with the small group of friends who came with you. You are the biggest fan of the 3 girls who came with and they all brought their boyfriends. They keep shutting you out, being the seventh wheel is no fun. You fight back tears and wish you had come alone, or not come at all. The beginning act starts to wind down and you close your eyes and imagine Hunter up on stage. Too bad you couldn't convince your friends to do Coffee House, today EGSBM is your theme song and meeting Hunter might have turned this whole day around. Oh well, maybe his performance will do just as much good.

You get to your seats and you have the option of going into the pit but you hang at your spot at the front of the stage. You'd have a good view. Soon enough the lights dim and everyone starts to scream. You've waited days for this and you were going to enjoy this. Your friends weren't going to rain on your parade anymore.  Hunter runs out starting Wild Card. You giggle and watch him with a smile as he jumps up and down. He gets to the mic in front of you and looks down at you. You blush and give him a smile.

His eyes move away and you feel suddenly lightheaded as you start to sing along with the song.

"You know he wasn't looking at you!" One of your friends yells in your ear.

"Yeah, so!" You yell back, secretly hoping she is wrong but knowing she is most likely right.

"So you can stop looking like a love sick puppy!"

"Shut up! I'm just having fun!"

She rolls her eyes at you and you turn your attention back to the stage, clapping and singing, even dancing just a little as one of your favorite songs is played out for you, live and in person. His face seems to concentrate on the music alone for a minute and you almost scream but instead you break into a smile.

He looks up and his eyes meet yours again. His eyes are so much bluer than they appear in magazines and photographs. You smile and your friend nudges you, "Quit!" You look down sheepishly. Just because you wanted to have fun, for once today, it's gone as quickly as it's come.

When you look back up at at the stage when the song ends, he's starting to talk to the crowd. "Alright, remember this is your show. Have fun, do what you want. Dance, sing, just own it!" You wish you could without being ridiculed by the people you called "friends"

A quick glance over at your friends during Wanted shows that they wouldn't notice if you slipped into the crowd. They are all caught up in each other and it's just sickening, unbearable. The tears you've been fighting back finally find their place in the song as you shuffle to the right and weave through the pit until at least 20 people separate you from your group. You manage to squeeze in next to a small group of girls who came without escort. They hold big flashy signs and are also singing along word for word, faces rapt and at attention. You join in and a weight lifts from your chest. The slow songs turn into fast ones and at one point Hunter focuses on the area where your friends were and you could swear his brow furrows as he sings on, his eyes start roving the pit.

His eyes look over to your new spot and he smiles, walking over. The young girls scream and you find yourself reaching your hand out to him. He sings straight to you as he takes your hand. You feel tingles running up your arm and you blush, his face more closer, his eyes warm and inviting. The seconds you shared with him left and he moved on with the crowd.

The rest of the show is spent in a daze, your mind just can't connect the pieces of the night. All too soon the performance is over and sadly Hunter disappears behind the stage. You slowly amble back to your friends who give you the third degree as to where you went and why. Finally they seem satisfied with the 'jostling causes you to become separated' story and they plan the way back to the car, the venue empties and you just don't want to leave yet. Who cares about your friends drama or need of sleep. You could stay awake forever from how you feel.
