(Your POV)
You walk down the steps of Warner/Atlantic records. Fifth audition this week. You were scouting different labels for to sign you after your manager got calls. You sigh and see something stuck to the side of the big mailbox beside you. You bend down and unstick it from all the tape. You start to read the note and smile, tears coming to your eyes. You grab a pen from your purse, turning the card over and starting to write. 'Dear H,
Thank you, this is really what I wanted to hear. It's daunting having the world on your shoulders but having people like you, you help ease a struggle. I'm your fan through thick our thin, you deserve the world. I hope your dreams all come true because I've never encountered someone as nice as you. You've got my back and I've got yours." You end it with 'sincerely' and your first initial. Bending down to put the letter back with your letter there for them to see. You stand up and head to your car.

"No!" I wince as hot coffee pours all over my hand and shirt, dripping down to my shoes. They didn't put the cover on tight, again! As I stoop down to retrieve the empty lid and cup the folded piece of paper I left taped to the side of the mailbox post has shifted. Maybe someone read it... maybe... I wipe coffee from my hand and pull the paper off of its home. That's definitely not my handwriting on the front. I read the new note and a smile spreads across my face. I wonder what I should do with it. I walk into the building pondering, barely feeling the burn on my hand. All throughout the day I put pen to paper, inking out a few words at a time, when I leave I stick the new note in the same place: 'Dear (y/f/i [your first initial]), still working on those dreams, but with perseverance and ambition they will come. I'm happy to bring a ray of sun into your life and whatever you want, go for it. Can I ask what your dreams are? I would love to hear someone speak passionately about what they love, I would be honored if you shared that with me. Thank you for responding, it was the bright spot in my day. Heartfeltly, H'

You sigh and get out of the car nervously. You're back at Warner, trying hard to figure out why they've called you back so soon. They just told you about a meeting and nothing else. No other record label has responded that quickly. You move to go inside but see the note was different on the mailbox now. You see a coffee spot almost dried up not to far away. You giggle, 'that had to be H.' You walk over and read the new note, smiling. You stick it into your purse and head inside. When the meeting is done, you sit to write him back. "Dear H,
I'm happy to have brightened your day. My dreams are actually starting to come true! I'm a singer-songwriter and today I'm a new signed artist. Well..the fun would to be guess which one, since there are so many up and down the street. I've loved music forever and I've been singing what seems forever but I could talk all day about it but I would feel awkward to take your ear like that, friend (Unless you want me to of course, which is rare these days). Did you spill your coffee by the way? If you did, I know how that feels. My friend gave me a card to Starbucks for my birthday, just for a cup. Here have it, it might make your day again. From one coffee lover to another, (y/f/i)." You place it back with the card and smile, heading to your car.

I want to do a little dance right there on the sidewalk. Instead I calmly walk into the building, I can seek out their name and find them, I need to know more about who this is. I stop at the office side of the building and wait, there's some big meeting in the big board room. "She'll do just fine, her sound is just the fresh new voice we've been looking for. So next up-"
I smile to myself and decide to sneak away without being seen. The fact that they are a 'she' just makes me that much happier, she is sweet and generous and kind and humble and... I need to write her another note! Sure I could find out her name but I'm sure I will soon enough. 'Dear (y/f/i),
Thank you for your kind gift for coffee, and I would love to talk music with you. In addition, congratulations! That is exciting news!-'
