It was different not being home for new year's eve. You and Hunter had to go through that. Hunter was your best friend ever since you made it in the industry that was country music. You stood outside your bus talking with everyone, knowing the party was in full mode and you couldn't see Hunter anywhere. Devo looked over at you and smiled sadly, "He's in the bus." He had broken up with his girlfriend of a year a few months ago and you knew the holidays were hitting him hard.

"Thanks." You head over to the bus and walk up the steps to see him on the couch. "Hi.." You walk over and sit beside him, your gloved hand on his arm, "You okay?"

He looks up at you an you can see he's been crying. "What? No, yeah... I'm fine."

"Hunter-"

"I will be, no go back out there and have fun."

"I can't..." Your voice drops to a whisper, "it's no fun knowing you're sitting in here sad... Come with me?" You try giving him a hopeful smile.

He sighs and tries to cover up a sniff. "I'm not leaving unless you come with." "Fine."

Your heart breaks hearing him sniffing and to know he's been crying alone. It's a pain you know all to well. You take off your gloves and wipe his cheeks of the wet trails from his tears. He chuckles slightly, "I know you're sad but it's a new year! Time to forget all about her, she's crazy..and not the crazy you want either. So, no crying, no thinking about miss. crazy pants.." that makes him laugh and you smile, "Grab a bottle of wine and come have fun! After all the nights still young and Matt's grilling your favorite!"

He grins and nods, "Alright! Let's party!"

Together you walk off the bus, releasing his hand to put your glove back on while he pulls his over his hands, tucking the bottle he brought snugly under his arm. The guys laugh and wave and he tries to grin back. "Hey, come play 500 with us!" Andy calls giving the football a toss in the air. You wished there would be enough snow for a snowball fight but the tiny bit on the ground isn't packable and it's almost too warm for there to be snow at all.

"Fine, but let (y/n) throw first. Otherwise she might never get the chance."

"Hey!" You laugh as he snickers, pushing him slightly and snatching the ball out of the air when it is tossed to you. Hunter runs over to join the others and they jostle each other as you presort to throw the ball. "150, dead or alive!" You shout before snapping the ball into the air, hurtling it straight for the center of the group.

You laugh as Andy gets it and laughs. The game goes on and the only one without points is Hunter because he's shorter than all the rest. You raise up the ball and smile, "jackpot!" You throw and Hunter gets it and laughs.

"Ha! Ha!" You smile and move to sit and watch the boys. After a while, they get tired and Hunter comes to sit beside you. "More wine?" He nudges you and you laugh.

"Maybe later."

Slowly the game starts to wind down and the remaining ones insist you and Hunter join in again. He pulls you up, laughing as you protest. "Come on, it'll be fun!"

"Okay, okay! Ow! Let go of me before you pull my arm out of the socket!" You giggle and join him at the front of the group.

"300!" Justin calls, turning and tossing it over his head in a pretty straight trajectory. You and Hunter rush forward and push each other to get under it. On the last second Hunter shoves you aside and you grab his coat as you feel yourself fall. Crashing down to the ground with Hunter on top of you.
