Madeline's body felt stiff, her body aching. Her eyes fluttered open looking around the hospital wing, seeing several other beds filled with students, some sitting up, some laying down, and some were still petrified.

"Oh, your awake, how are you feeling?" Madam Pomfrey asked as Madeline sat up.

"A little sore, but what happened?" Madeline asked, as Madam Pomfrey handed her a cup of water. She drank the water, not realizing how thirsty she actually was.

"You were petrified dear." Madam Pomfrey said, Madeline started coughing, as she felt Madam Pomfrey start rubbing her back soothingly.

"What?"

"Yeah, you were petrified. I'm so sorry." Madam Pomfrey said, taking the cup out of Madeline's hand.

"How long?"

"Well, you've been petrified for five months now." Madam Pomfrey said, nervously, watching Madeline's face as horror flashed across it.

"I'm so sorry again. I'm going to give you something to help your soreness, and you'll be able to go to the feast tonight."

"I'm leaving Hogwarts tonight?" Madeline asked, Madam Pomfrey nodded before she heard another student calling for her and rushed over to them. Madeline rested her back against the headboard, trying not to cry as she realized she had missed five months of her life.

---

Madeline had asked Madam Pomfrey to be let out early, she wanted to shower and change out of the clothes she'd been wearing for five months. Madam Pomfrey hesitantly agreed and made sure to remind Madeline to come back if she wasn't feeling well.

The wall slid open, and her eyes landed on the Slytherin common room where several people were sitting enjoying there last day of the year. She walked in, the wall sliding shut behind her, as people turned and whispered, pointing at her.

"Madeline!" She heard Daphne shout, Madeline turned seeing Daphne coming down the stairs with the boys, including Draco. Daphne ran across the room and threw her arms around Madeline.

"They told us you would be awake! How are you feeling? Are you okay?" Daphne asked, holding Madeline by the elbows excitedly.

"I'm okay, a little tired." Madeline laughed, her eyes landing on Malfoy who stared at his shoes.

"That's surprising since you've been asleep for five months." Blaise said, Daphne threw him a dirty look. Blaise shrugged.

"What it's true? Did you like it?" Blaise asked, making Madeline laugh, as Daphne let her go, Madeline wrapped her arms around herself, shrugging.

"Well, I mean it felt like a second to me."

"I have one quick question, Mads." Theo said, rocking back and forth on his heels.

"What is it?"

"How did you go to the bathroom?"

"Oh! That's a good question!" Blaise gasped, pointing at Theo, who nodded.

"Right?"

"No, it's not. I'm not answering that." Madeline laughed shaking her head at them.

"Boys," Daphne signed, shaking her head, before she glanced over at Draco, who looked bored, but really, he felt incredibly guilty. But he was a Malfoy who isn't going to apologize for anything.

"Draco, is there something you want to say?" He shook his head.

"Nope,"

"I mean Malfoy can barely string to sentences together, so that's not surprising." Madeline said, Malfoy threw her a dark glare.

"Watch who you're speaking to Ayer."

"You seem to be forgetting who you're speaking to Malfoy." She countered, before looking at her friends.

"I'm going to go take a shower. I'll be back soon." She said, waving goodbye to her friends before walking upstairs to the girl's dormitory.
