The next day, Madeline woke up early that morning, a new maid, Meredith had helped her get ready for breakfast. She had Elizabeth take the next few days off to be with Michael, and rest after the traumatic night.

"Princess Madeline, our meeting with General Alexander," Her father said, ever since the Days started hiding at the castle, they've had to be formal with each other, she had to call her mum and dad, King or Queen, and they had to do the same.

"Why did he cancel?" She asked, taking a large bite of her French toast.

"His daughter got into a car accident, she's in the hospital." William explained, Madeline raised an eyebrow surprised.

"I hope she recovers soon. Did you send flowers?"

"I had Colin send a large bouquet of peonies."

"Does that mean I can an hour off?" Madeline asked, looking at her dad over the rim of her coffee cup. Her father nodded; his eyes glued on the document he was reading.

"You're so lucky, you get to do nothing." Madeline told to Grace. Grace chuckled, shaking her head.

"Yes, I'm the lucky one. I'm the only sibling that doesn't have magical powers, and the only that goes to a boring private school. I can't even go to because I might get killed by people who want to kill my sister and brother, and I'm not even the heir." She said,

"You're really sarcastic, and it doesn't suit you." Madeline said, taking another bit of her French toast.

"I'm only joking, you could never pay me to be in your spot..." She trailed off looking over at Elijah and Michelle.

"Do you think they ever notice there's other people in the room?" Grace joked, watching as her brother pushed a strand of Grace's ginger hair out of her face, as she spoke. She was so pale that they could see the blush creeping up her skin from across the dining table. Elijah chuckled at her blushing cheeks, resting his hand over his, rubbing his thumb over her palm.

"Not when you're that in love." Madeline said, she cleared her throat trying to get rid of the saddens in her voice.

"What are you going to do with your free hour?" Grace picked up her mug taking a long sip of her coffee, wanting to change the subject for Madeline's shake, she watched her over the rim of her cup.

"I'm going to go visit some of the guards. See how there doing and thank them again." She said, she picked up her napkin, whipping her face from any lingering traces of food or coffee.

"I'll see you at lunch." She told her sister, standing up, throwing her napkin over her breakfast plate.

"See you," As soon as Madeline stepped out of the dining room April started following Madeline. Madeline muttered a 'Good morning,' before they walked up to the hospital wing. There were still several guards in hospital beds, the death eater attack wasn't too bad, not counting Henry's death, so they would be cleared later today, but Madeline still wanted to thank them.

She looked over at Michael who was still sleeping from the stress of the attack and decided to head to several other guards and thank them. She stayed with each guard, listening to them talk about the attack, and how thankful she was for there help, before Michael finally woke up.

"How are you feeling?" Madeline asked, as she reached Michael.

"A little sore, but I should be okay to get back to work,"

"You don't need to jump into work right away. You can take a few days off; I'll deal with the King." She said,

"I'd rather be working then rest."

"He's a workaholic I've told him to rest before." Elizabeth said as she walked into the hospital, she bowed to Madeline before kissing Michael on the forehead. Michael grinned at his wife; his gaze laced with love as he looked at his wife.

"Who else is goanna make enough money for our bab-"

"Michael," Elizabeth hissed, but it was too late.

"You're pregnant?" She whispered to Elizabeth, her eyes wide, raising her eyebrows at Elizabeth. Elizabeth nodded, a blush creeping up her neck and face.

"We haven't really told anyone, I'm only in my first trimester. Maybe I shouldn't have even told this loudmouth." Elizabeth signed, poking her husband in the arm.

"It was an accident." Michael muttered, making Madeline laugh.

"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. I won't tell a soul. So is it a boy or girl?"

"I don't know yet," Elizabeth laughed, Madeline smirked, looking over at the clock. Her hour was almost done, and she had to go meet her father for there press conference. The public had heard about the attack, and Colin said it was best to make a statement. They didn't know how safe that would be considering the attack, but the death eaters wouldn't attack while there camera's present, even you-know-who knew not to risk exposing there world to the muggles.

"I have to go; I'll see you guys later." She said,

"Bye Princess Madeline," Elizabeth said, Michael grabbed her wrist as she started walking, she looked at him confused.

"Wait...take this." He whispered, he let go of her arm, picking up the book from the nightstand. He opened the book, taking out a tiny, folded piece of parchment. Madeline took it from him, raising her eyebrows at it. Madeline gasped as she saw Draco's neat handwriting was scribbled across the parchment.

Meet me in the gardens, in the Gazebo at midnight.

-Draco

"Where did you-"

"He was here. You-know-who sent him with the other death eaters. He asked me to give you this."

"Thank you," Madeline whispered, blinking the tears away. She stuffed the note in her pocket, before Elizabeth bowed to her, and she rushed out of the hospital wing. She ran downstairs, April right on her heels, as she reached the entrance of the palace where her father, Colin, and several reports were waiting for her.

"Where we're you? You were almost late!" Her father hissed,

"I'm sorry, I was in visiting the guards." She said breathlessly.

"Never mind that, we need to start the conference." Her father said, they turned around, straighten there shoulders, plastering on there smiles as the reporters started taking there pictures, the light blinding there eyes but they were so used to it, it barely hurt anymore.

"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, as you many know the castle was under attack two nights ago. The Royal guard managed to stop these attackers..." Madeline tried to listen to her father's speech, but she couldn't. The note was burning a hole in her pocket, her thoughts only on Draco, and counting every second until midnight hits.
