The day following Christmas, and the Royal Families Ball, the family sat around the long white clothed breakfast table.
"You know," Madeline's little brother, Elijah said waiting for the waiter to leave before he turned to Madeline.
"I'll be 11 next summer, maybe I'll get a Hogwarts letter."
"I hope not, I didn't get a letter this year." Grace said,
"Well, you're just not special enough. I'm going to get that letter; I can feel it." Elijah said, looking very determined, making William chuckle. Grace gave her father a look.
"I'm sure he won't, Gracie." He said, Grace nodded approvingly at her father.
"Good,"
"Anyway, I have an announcement." Her father said, changing the subject, silencing the table, as he sat up straighter.
"We've been invited to dinner tonight."
"Tonight? Where are we going?" Madeline asked, surprised.
"It's at the Malfoy's." Her father said, his face visibly angry. He still remembered Mr. Malfoy grabbing Madeline last summer and did not like the man one bit.
"The Malfoy's? We're going to Draco's house?" Madeline said, her father nodded.
"But why? The Malfoy's hate non-magical folks."
"The minister thinks it's a good idea for us to become friends, since Mr. Malfoy is a big part of the ministry, and so am I." He explained.
"We're going to be accompanied by four guards as protection at all times. You two are going to be staying home though." William said, pointing between Elijah, and Grace.
"Why! We never get to go anywhere that's magical!" Grace cried,
"Because I don't trust Mr. Malfoy."
"Then why is Madeline going?" Elijah asked,
"Because the minister says he Mr. Malfoy's son will be there, and it's a good idea for the two to be friends as well." He explained, Madeline couldn't help but feeling a little excited to go see Malfoy, even though she was trying to pretend it wasn't a big deal.

"So, how's your term been?" Elizabeth asked, as she started on Madeline's hair. Madeline had showered, and changed into a simple green dress, that had a black silk belt, that was tied in the back to be a perfect bow.
"It's been good."
"Have you seen that Malfoy boy you were talking about last year?" Madeline shrugged,
"Yeah, we've been hanging out."
"Oh?" Elizabeth said, smirking at Madeline from the mirror. Madeline flushed shaking her head.
"It's nothing like that, we're in the same friend group that's it." Madeline said, quickly. As Elizabeth tied up Madeline's hair in a half up style with a black bow, covering the hairband.
"Okay, if you say so." Elizabeth grinned, as she finished her hair. Madeline shook her head, as the door opened and her mother came in, wearing a simple long black dress, with a simple tiara on her head.
"All done?" She asked, as Elizabeth bowed, Madeline nodded, hopping off her chair. Her mother had a box in her hand, and setting it down on the table, telling Elizabeth she could have the rest of the night off. She waited until Eilzabeth shut the door behind her before opening the box. A silver tiara, that had a leaf design detailing with an abundance of crystals. It wasn't as grand as the one she had worn to the Royal Families Ball, but still very pretty.
"Are we really going to wear tiaras?" Madeline asked, thinking it was a bit dramatic for a dinner.
"Yes, we are. That family thinks there better than us, I won't have them looking down at us just because they have magic. You have magic and your just as good as they are." She said, placing the simple tiara on Madeline's head.
They walked downstairs to the great hall, where four guards stood. Madeline recognized Michael, he smiled at her, nodding his head in greeting.
"Hi," she said, as the four guards bowed to the queen and princess.
"Are you guys ready to go?" William asked, Alexanderia nodded.
"How are we going to get there though?" She asked,
"We're going to be aparating." Michael said,
"What's aparating?" Alexanderia asked,
"It's a means of transportation, we're going to teleport from one point to another." A women said, her name tag read April.
"You're going to grab our arms and we'll use our wands." A guard named Jackson said.
"Okay, we'll we should get going." William said, looking at the wristwatch he always wore. Michael grabbed William's arm, Jackson grabbed Alexanderia's arm, and April grabbed Madeline's arm.
"I'll meet you there." Alex said, he flicked his wand and disappeared. Then the others took out their wands and flicked their wands. Madeline felt her body being pushed and pulled in every way, before they landed on some grass in front of a tall house. The family hunched over taking deep breaths and trying to suppress their gag reflex. The guards stood there trying not to laugh, as the family straightened up.
"Okay, let's get going." William said, as he fixed himself up. Madeline's eyes landed on the Malfoy manor. It was a very dark manor, with several windows, she counted 7 roofs that came to a point. There were dark clouds covering the manor, making it look even scarier.
They walked up to the door, there was a long rope, that they figured was the doorbell. Michael lifted up a shaking hand and rang the doorbell. A second past, and the door was pulled open. Mr. Malfoy stood by the door, with the minister right next to him. Mr. Malfoy forced a grin on his face as they entered the house.
"Hello King William, Queen Alexanderia, and Princess Madeline." Mr. Malfoy said, as Mrs. Malfoy walked down the stairs with Draco right behind her. Mrs. Malfoy was a tall, pretty, women, wearing a long black dress, with black hair, that had two white strips that framed her face. Malfoy was wearing his best robes, his eyes were glued to the ground, not daring to look up at Ayer.
"May Dobby take your coat?" A house elf said, stepping out from behind the door, and offering its tiny hands to William. He jumped back, gasping as he stared at the elf. It had large green eyes, and even bigger ears. It wore a dirty rag as clothing, and no shoes.
"Yes, it's quite ugly, isn't it?" Mr. Malfoy laughed, as Wiliam handed Dobby his jacket, and apparated away.
"We're so happy to have you in our home." Mrs. Malfoy said, as she walked up to Alexanderia, and William shook hands with the Minister.
"Our dining room is just through here, follow me." Mrs. Malfoy said, as Mr. Malfoy eyed one of the guards, who looked very familiar.
As they walked deeper into the house, Madeline noticed it was as dark as the outside. There were oil paintings, that showed the Malfoy families through the years. Madeline looked at the last painting, it had four people, Mrs. Malfoy and Mr. Malfoy were standing in the back, with two boys in the picture. There was a tall boy, even taller than Mr. Malfoy stood next to him, but Madeline noticed the boy's face, he felt very familiar, but she couldn't figure out who he was, but he had to be Mr. Malfoy's son, they looked identical. Madeline knew that the second boy in the painting was Draco, but he looked to be around seven years old.
"Madeline, come along." Her mother called, Madeline had stared at the painting so long that the group was a couple feet away, she quickened her pace and walked to her parents, just as they got into the dining room, where a long black table stood, a fireplace on the left wall, and two chandeliers hanging over the tables.
Let's get this over with, Madeline thought as she sat across from Malfoy.
