Madeline woke up that next morning, she ran her fingertips across her lips, as she laid in her bed.

"Mads, get up. Were goanna be late to breakfast." She heard Daphne say from her side of the room. Madeline's eyes were heavy, she was too exhausted to go to breakfast or class. She stood up, went to the bathroom to freshen up before changing into her Hogwarts uniform.

"What's up with you today?" Daphne asked her once they walked downstairs.

"What?" Madeline said,

"I said what's up with you. You seem exhausted. What no Draco to cuddle up to tonight?" Daphne giggled, Madeline shushed her, as they reached the common room. Blaise, Theo, and Malfoy were already there, sitting on the couch. Malfoy glanced at her, before looking away.

"What's wrong with both of you? You both look exhausted." Theo said, looking between Madeline and Draco.

"Couldn't sleep,"

"Just tired," they said at the same time, before starting to walk to breakfast. They entered the great hall and found a spot at the Slytherin table. Madeline couldn't help herself; she glanced up at the Gryffindor table, seeing Harry. He winked at her, grinning. She blushed her lips tugging into a smile, as she looked at her breakfast plate.

Draco looked between the two, fighting off his vomit of how disgusting the display was. He poked at the eggs in his plate, before looking over at Pansy who he had not noticed at slid in the seat next to his.

"Hi Draco," she said, Draco managed a smirk.

"Hi Pansy," he said,

"Are you going to be playing in the match next week. Is your arm all healed up?" She asked, putting a hand on his arm.

"Of course, I will. The team can't work without there star player." Draco teased, leaning closer to her. Madeline looked between the two of them, rolling her eyes. Pansy was now pushing Malfoy's hair away from his forehead.

"Draco do you want to go to Hogsmeade with me?" Pansy asked, in her sweetest voice that made Madeline sick to her stomach.

"No, he can't." Daphne said, jerking her head towards them.

"Why not?"

"Because he-um-" She looked between Madeline and Draco, pursing her lips.

"He can't go to Hogsmeade because he has to go with us, and he's not allowed to go with anyone else." Theo said, in one long breath.

"What?" Pansy snapped; Blaise nodded.

"Yeah, it's true. I think it's because me and Draco are in love, and we even share a bed-"

"Okay that's not true-" Malfoy laughed.

"The bed part is very true," Blaise said, Pansy huffed rolling her eyes.

"Fine, next time then Draco," she said before standing up and walking out of the great hall.

"You guys are so dramatic," Draco said,

"Did you want to go to Hogsmeade with Pansy? I can just call her back-" Draco leaned across the table, grabbing Daphne's arm before she stood up.

"No, don't! I can stand her for five minutes not a full Hogsmeade trip." He said in one breath, making the group laugh.

Madeline walked up to the library, she took off her jacket and put it over her bag, as she climbed up the stairs. Madeline opened the door to the library, seeing several students in there, wanting to finish their homework before Christmas break. Madeline walked deeper into the library, she didn't like sitting by the door, she liked sitting by a window and watching the forest as she studied.

Before sitting down, she draped her robe over her chair, took out some parchments and quills, and then walked over to the book shelfs, and took some defensive of the dark arts and potions textbooks.

"Ayer," someone said from behind her. She turned around, with several books in her arms. Malfoy stood there, eyeing the several books she had.

"Oh Malfoy. What are you doing here?" She asked, as she tucked a book under her arm.

"Just wanted to study," He shrugged, she nodded.

"So, are you here with Potter or something?" Malfoy asked, taking three of Madeline's book from her hands. She seemed to be struggling to hold every single on in her arms. Madeline tried not to seem surprised by the gesture but shook her head.

"No, I'm alone." He nodded,

"Do you-um want to join me?" Madeline asked, he raised an eyebrow at her.

"Well, I mean, Daphne says we should try to get along, studying together won't kill us after surviving a whole Hogsmeade trip. Draco smirked before nodding.

"Alright." He shrugged; Madeline leaned him to the back of the library where her table was. He sat down across from her, setting the books down in the middle of it.

"What are you studying anyway?" He asked, reading several of the book titles.

"I'm trying to study potions and defense against the dark arts. What about you?" She asked, he took out his transfiguration textbook.

---

They had sat like that for a while, working quietly on their homework. Draco would sneak small glances at Madeline as she worked, noticing the way she would scrunch up her eyebrows when she was confused, and pursed her lips. She rested her head in the palm of her hand, looking out the window at the forest when she would get bored.

"Have you done any homework?" Draco asked, she drew her gaze away from the window, and looked over at him.

"Yes," she said, quickly.

"Really? It seems like you're daydreaming more than working." Draco teased, his lip twitching up into a small smirk.

"That's not true, what have you done?"

"So much," Draco chuckled, folding his dried-up parchment, away from Madeline's prying eyes.

"Hm, seems like that's not true." Madeline said,

"Whatever, I'm bored. Do you want to go get some hot chocolate?" Draco asked, standing up.

"Yeah, why not." Madeline shrugged standing up. They put the textbooks back on the shelfs and then put there parchment and quills away, before they walked out of the library and down to the great hall.

"Whipped cream?" Malfoy asked her, she nodded. She found them a seat at the Slytherin table, and Malfoy brought over two cups. He sat down next to her, so close their elbows almost touched, as he put the drink down in front of her.

"I haven't had hot chocolate in forever," Malfoy muttered, picking up the warm drink.

"Why?"

"Dad says it's a muggle drinks, and we shouldn't drink it."

"Your dad's an ass." She muttered, he chuckled.

"He is, but you think everyone's an ass." Draco said, as he licked his lips.

"That's not true," Madeline said, defensively.

"You think I'm an ass,"

"You act like an ass all the time. I'm surprised you're not acting like an ass right now." She said, taking a sip of her drink, leaving a whipped cream mustache. Draco smirked, wondering whether or not he should mention anything.

"Would an ass not tell you that you have a whipped cream mustache?" He said, picking up a napkin. Madeline's eyebrows rose, as he leaned over and whipped the mustache off her top lip.

"Thank you," She blushed, trying to stop the nervous feeling she got in her stomach.

"Not an ass?" He asked, setting the napkin down on the table. She shrugged.

"Doesn't mean anything." She muttered; Malfoy rolled his eyes.

"If that's what you think,"

"Oh please, you act like an ass 80% of the time, the 20% is when were alone. That's it." She said, Draco shook his head, his elbow brushing against hers as he picked up the drink.

"You're so annoying."

"Thanks,"
