Madeline spent the rest of winter break angry at her parents and couldn't wait to go back to Hogwarts. Her parents had decided that going on the train was too dangerous, they had the fireplace in her room connected to the floo network. Michael grabbed her and Elijah's luggage shoving it into the fire.

"If anything happens, I'm going to be alerted the second it happens." Michael said, he pushed the hair out of his face, the fire was highlighting his scar.

"How are you going to know?" Madeline asked as she put on her cloak, Michael smirked.

"I know everything." Madeline chuckled.

"I'll see you two at the end of the year," Michael said, as Madeline grabbed a handful of floo powder from the little pot that Michael had brought. She stepped into the fire.

"Hogwarts!" She shouted, throwing the powder into the fire. She felt her body being pulled down watching Michael's face disappear, she caught fleeting glances of into other people's fireplaces, but she could never in their houses for too long, she felt herself slow down until she landed in McGonagall fireplace.

"Evening Princess Madeline, try not to get any soot on the carpet." McGonagall said,

"My brother should be right behind me." Madeline said, McGonagall nodded barley glimpsing at Madeline. Elijah arrived a second later, and stepped out of the fireplace as Madeline shook the soot out of her hair and rubbed the soot of her face. They wished McGonagall a goodnight before walking out of her office.

"So, are you finally goanna tell me why you've been acting so...weird these last couple days?" Elijah asked. Madeline glanced around the empty hallway, making sure that no one was near. The hallway was covered in an orange glow from the windows.

"You can't tell anyone this," Madeline muttered,

"Who am I goanna tell?"

"Michelle? Any of your Hufflepuff friends?" Madeline said, Elijah raised his hands in surrender.

"Fine, fine! I promise. I won't tell anyone!" He said, he looked around dramatically.

"Are you secretly pregnant? Cause I know you and Draco are a bit...gross"

"NO!" She smacked him over the head, as they reached the end of the hallway.

"I was only joking! Can you please tell me what the hell is wrong?" Elijah said, rubbing the back of his head.

"I'm engaged Elijah...to Alexander." She said, Elijah's mouth fell open.

"Are you serious? What about Draco?"

"I don't know, I should tell him...soon, right?" Elijah nodded.

"Obviously! If my girlfriend was engaged, then I would want her to tell me!" Madeline glared at him, running her tongue along her teeth.

"Okay, I get it. I have to tell him, I just...don't want to ruin what we have."

"We'll you're engaged so obviously that's going to affect your relationship." Madeline rubbed her face, nodding.

"Okay, okay. You're right. Just make sure not to tell a single soul or I swear Elijah, I will kill you or hire someone too." Madeline said, grabbing him by the collar.

"OW! Okay! If you weren't the princess, I'd think your bluffing." He said, he pulled her fingers away from his collar, fixing his shirt.

"Now, I'll see you later. I'm going to go see my beautiful girlfriend." Elijah said, Madeline shook her head at him as he started walking towards the Hufflepuff common room. She thought over her conversation with her dad, and then her brother, trying to figure out what to tell Draco. She reached her common room, muttering the password. She watched the wall slide open, Daphne, Draco, Blaise, and Theo were sitting on the common room couch, they had a plate of food in the middle on the table and a couple of drinks.

"Madeline!" Blaise shouted, as Madeline walked in, the wall shut behind her. She took off her soot filled cloak, muttering a 'hello.' Draco grabbed her hand as she walked up to him on the couch and sat down.

"How was your guy's break?" She asked, as Draco kissed her cheek. She picked up a cup of what she assumed was firewhiskey. It burned going down her throat but she thought she needed something to calm her nerves today.

"Boring, I wished I was on break with you guys again." Daphne said,

"I spent it with you?" Theo said,

"I didn't say you were boring. I loved it with you." Daphne giggled, kissing Theo on the lips.

"Mine was boring too, Mum usually takes us to somewhere like Italy or Pairs, but we were stuck here." Blaise said,

"Oh how sad," Draco said, sarcastically.

"Okay what did you go you grump?" Blaise asked, smacking his hand on Draco's thigh.

"I was here."

"Why did you stay here?" Madeline asked,

"Well...when your father's in Azkaban, your mother is hiding your crazy escaped from Azkaban aunt, you don't really want to go on winter break."  Draco explained, sipping of his firewhiskey, he put his hand on Madeline's thigh.

"Maybe I shouldn't have asked." Madeline muttered, making them laugh. She felt Draco squeeze her thigh, moving his hand up. She bit her bottom lip, hiding a smile behind her cup.

"What about you Madeline?" Daphne asked, picking up a peice of cauldron cake. Madeline's smile dropped, she shrugged.

"It was boring too, you know just the ball, shadowing my dad, and stuff."

"Ugh! Nothing is ever interesting anymore! Last year was so interesting." Blaise huffed, he slouched on the couch, putting his feet up on the coffee table.

"You mean when I was forced to be with Pansy, and we had to sneak around to be together? Oh, and Umbridge?" Draco answered,

"I forgot about that."

"The firewhiskey is getting to you." Theo smirked, as Madeline put her head on Draco's shoulder, she lifted the leg Draco was holding, and put it over his, trying to get comfortable.

"You, okay?" He whispered to her before taking a sip of his firewhiskey, Madeline's shoulders tensed, looking up at Draco.

"Yes, I'm okay why?" She asked, Draco shrugged.

"You seem off, just a little sad." Draco admitted, Madeline bit her lip, shaking her haed. Draco knew Madeline to well, he knew if something was wrong the second he saw he, she should have known.

"No, I'm fine, it's probably just the trip." Madeline was a coward, she didn't realize it till she finally saw Draco, and felt his hands on her body, she couldn't do it. Not yet because if she told Draco, and they had to end their relationship her engagement would become that much more real, and she wasn't ready for that.
