Sixth year was harder than Madeline had thought it would be. They felt like they were studying for exams every day, including the homework they had piling on every day. The five Slytherins were studying, books all over the table and the ground, although Draco looked anything but focused, he twirled his quill in his hand, staring at the wall her eyes. Daphne shut her book, rubbing her eyes.
"Theo what time is it?"
"It's 12:32," He answered, glancing lazily at his wristwatch.
"I want a break; do you guys want to go to lunch?" Daphne asked them rolling up her parchment.
"I could use some food," Blaise said, stretching his arms over his head, and letting a loud groan. The group put there books and homework in there bags, and standing up, everyone but Draco.
"Draco, are you coming?" Madeline asked,
"Hmm?" Draco had been so in his head that he hadn't heard anything they were saying.
"Did you hear anything we said? We're going to get lunch...come on." Madeline said,
"Oh right...you guys can go without me," Draco said, Madeline shook her head, slinging her bag over her shoulder.
"No, you didn't come to dinner last night, you skipped breakfast today, so you're coming to lunch lets go." Madeline said, Draco signed, his head was starting to hurt from the lack of food.
"Alright, let's go." He said, he quickly packed up his books and homework, and joined the group for lunch.
"I am wondering why your so preoccupied these days Draco? You're always in your head or disappearing somewhere." Blaise asked, as the common room wall slid open, and the group finally left the common room. Draco cleared his throat, avoiding there questioning gazes.
"No where, I've just got a lot of homework." Draco said, grabbing Madeline's hand, intertwining his fingers with hers. They walked into the great hall, which was quite full. They found themselves a spot at the Slytherin table.
"Princess Madeline, Mr. Blaise." Slughorn had walked up there table without anyone noticing. Madeline and Blaise looked up from there lunch plates.
"Hello Professor Slughorn," They said.
"I was hoping to see you two. I'm sure you two are busy with studies and everything but I'd like to invite you two to have supper tonight in my room, you know with me and other the rising stars. I've already got McLaggen coming, and Melinda Bobbin."
"Oh..." Madeline said, she nervously looked at Blaise who tried to discretely shake his head, but she couldn't think of a good reason, and Slughorn stared at her like he wasn't going to take no for an answer.
"We'd love to Professor Slughorn," Blaise kicked her under the table, she pursed her lips not to yelp in pain.
"Oh, how splendid! I'll see you two later tonight, if you'll excuse me, I spot Potter and Granger over there." Professor Slughorn said, Madeline nodded before he walked away and towards Potter.
"What the hell did you do?" Blaise groaned,
"How am I supposed to say no? He was staring at me, and also OW!" Madeline said, rubbing her knee.
"You deserve that," Blaise said, Draco kicked him under the table, twice as hard as Blaise had done to Madeline.
"Ow! You little bitch," Draco shrugged,
"Don't kick my girlfriend and I won't kick you."
---
Later that night, Madeline changed into a simple single strap black dress. It was tightly fitted at the top but was loose around her waist, and the necklace Draco had given her of course.
"You look hot," Daphne said, as she looked Madeline up and down. Madeline laughed as they walked out of there dorm room.
"Thank you," She said,
"Where's Draco? He's not going to be able to be able to keep his hands off you." Daphne said, Madeline shrugged. Draco had disappeared after lunch and Madeline hasn't seen him since. Blaise was scowling on the common room couch.
"Will you get over it Blaise? It'll just be for an hour or so," Theo said, trying to cheer Blaise up, as the common room wall slid open, and Elijah strolled in.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Theo asked,
"If you really want to know, I was invited to Slughorn dinner. We're you invited Nott?"
"No, I was one of the lucky ones." Theo smirked; Elijah scowled.
"That doesn't matter," Elijah said, waving a dismissive hand, Theo smirked sitting down next to Blaise.
"Come on, Madeline we're going together, I'm not walking in alone." Elijah huffed, Theo slapped a hand on Blaise's thigh, hard.
"Yeah Blaise, go with your date." Elijah rolled his eyes, turning to Daphne.
"You could do so much better...like me for instances." He said, Daphne shook her head as flipped the prince off.
"I can't imagine being with anyone other than Theo."
"Yeah loser." Theo shouted, as Madeline looped her arm through her brothers, with Blaise right behind them.
---
Blaise knocked on Professor Slughorns door, Slughorn opened it a moment later, inviting his three guests in. Madeline and Elijah nodded there heads in greeting at Professor Slughorn.
"Princess Madeline, Prince Elijah, and of course Mr. Zabini. I'm so pleased you three could make it." Slughorn said, McLaggen, Granger, Weasley, and Bobbin were already waiting for the three Slytherins.
"Please sit, sit!" Slughorn said, the three nodded and sat down at the table. Madeline in the middle, with Blaise on her left, and Elijah on her right.
"We were just talking about Ms. Granger's father. He works as a..what was it again Ms.Granger? A Dineist?"
"A dentist, he helps people with there teeth,"
"Oh and is it dangerous?" Professor Slughorn asked, as dinner appeared in front of them. They picked up there forks, enjoying there chicken thigh and leg, with mash potatoes and gravy, and a side of greens.
"Not really, um he got bit by a child and had to get 12 stiches once." She said, forcing out a humorless laugh that no one joined. She cleared her throat, shoving a spoonful of mash potatoes in it.
"Anyway, Prince Elijah, I wasn't aware you were a wizard as well or I would have invited you to my lunch on the train." Elijah shook his head, waving a dismissive hand.
"That's quite alright, I'm just glad I was able to join you today. I mean it's not surprising that you only invited my sister, I mean she is the future queen." Elijah said, Slughorn's eyes gleamed as he looked at Madeline.
"Ah of course. That's quiet exiting. You do know, when I went to Hogwarts there was a princess a couple years younger than I was. Oh I can't remember her name, we never talked. She was in Ravenclaw. What was her name..." Slughorn signed, Madeline had stopped eating, raising her eyebrows at Slughorn's comment.
"There was another princess?" She asked, a thousand thoughts running through her mind.
There is another princess out there who was a witch?
"Yes, but I honestly don't remember her name, once it comes, I'll let you know." Slughorn said, Madeline nodded, but she was too curious, wishing Slughorn had remembered who that girl was. Slughorn moved on the conversation to Blaise and his mother.
