"You really shouldn't be in here."
Madeline sat on the couch in the employe lounge, drinking bad coffee, and eating the last brownie the kitchen had sent up. It was almost 7 o'clock at night. Madeline didn't feel like spending dinner with her family or the Days, or the lovesick couple that made her want to barf, so she showed up here, wanting new company.
"My parents will never know." She told Michael. She wore Draco's jacket, even though she washed the jacket after there night in the gazebo, it still smelled like him. Thanks to wizard cologne it still lingers on there clothes even after several washes.
"Let her highness have some fun, she's been trapped with her parents for months." Jackson said, pouring a large cup of butterbeer they had managed to find even during the war. He handed it to Madeline before pouring another one for his wife.
"I will blame you if anything happens to her." Michael told him. Madeline chuckled, as she looked around the room. The only people in the room were wizards or witches, while Madeline was at Hogwarts, there were at least 12 more. Half of them were here, the other half were still working. They were still lounging around after there long shift.
"Thanks that means a lot to me." He said, Michael nodded raising his mug at Jackson. Elizabeth cleared her throat, rubbing her belly.
"The baby's kicking."
"Can I?" Madeline asked, Elizabeth grabbed her hand and put it on her belly. Madeline's eyebrows shot up, as she felt a small kick against her hand.
"I felt it!"
"Yeah,"
"I have a question how come none of the muggles...other then Elizabeth of course aren't here?" Madeline asked, she had noticed that none of muggle staff was in here. April cleared her throat, looking at Jackson, looked up at the ceiling finding it very interesting all of a sudden.
"Jack, stop looking at the ceiling and answer the Princess's question." Michael smirked; Jackson rolled his eyes.
"Fine. This is a separate lounge we might have...made." Jackson muttered; April cleared her throat.
"Okay fine, more like I found it and made it into a little hiding spot for us. It's just so we can relax, use our magic, and be ourselves without looking over our shoulders. It's perfectly reasonable."
"Very reasonable." Michael smirked, he took a large sip of his butterbeer, whipping his foam mustache, as the fire started glowing a dark shade of red. The table fell silent as a man's head Madeline had never seen before popped out of the fire.
"Kingsley? What's going on?" Michael said, he put down the butterbeer, and stood up. He took two large strides before he reached the fireplace.
"Hogwarts it's under attack. You-know-who and his death eaters are on there way, right now. Harry is there. We need everyone we can there now." Madeline felt fear trickly down her spine, clutching on her mug of butter beers so tightly, her knuckles were turning white. Everyone looked at each other nervously, before Michael cleared his throat and nodded.
"We'll be there soon."
"See you there." Kingsley nodded, gravely. No one spoke for a moment, the weight of the possibility of ending this war tonight was hanging on there shoulders. Jackson was the first one to stand up breaking the silence in the room, but the tension still weighed on there shoulder.
"We better get going." He said, he put his hand on April's shoulder, as she stood up.
"Jackson, call the other guards, we're going to need everyone's help. I'll alert the King and tell we're going to leave." Michael said, grabbing his guard jacket off the chair. There uniforms had grey straight pants, with a white button down, and a white jacket.
"Yes," Jackson grabbed his pager and dialed every wizard or witch guard with a 911.
"Michael," Elizabeth whispered, she grabbed his arm, he shook his head confused as he looked down at her.
"Don't go. Let the other guards go, we're.... we're having a baby." She whispered, Michael kneeled on one leg, kissing her hand.
"I have to go Beth. I promise...I promise I'll be back. I love you." He whispered, Elizabeth had tears in her eyes, shaking her head.
"No..."
"I promise."
"You better keep your promise."
"When have I ever broken my promises?" Michael teased, Elizbeth managed a smile, as she nodded.
"Never you, never have." Michael kissed her head, standing up. The door opened, as Madeline's father walked in with the rest of the magical guards came arrived.
"Your Majesty." Everyone said bowing.
"The guards told me what happened. I just wanted to wish you all good luck." William smiled,
"I'm coming with." Madeline announced, she pushed her butterbeer away from her, and stood up.
"No, you're not." Her father said,
"Yes, I am!"
"No you aren't! You aren't a guard or in the order of whatever they have or a professor or even a student at Hogwarts right now! You are a princess."
"Michael!" Madeline said, looking at him for help, but he shook his head.
"I'm sorry your highness, but your father is right. I can't let you come with us." He said,
"But-"
"Michael grab her wand."
"Accio Madeline's wand."
"What?" Madeline shouted, she tried to grab her wand as it flew out of her pocket and into Michael's hand, he handed it to William.
"Just in case you thought of going with them. I'm keeping your wand in my room until tomorrow morning." He sadi, sliding it into her pocket.
"We have to go, we're already late." Michael said, the guards nodded at William and Madeline before they started apparting out of the palace one by one.
"You'll thank me for this one day." Her father said, before opening the door, and walking out. Madeline watched him as he walked down the hallway, he didn't bother closing the door behind him, but she didn't care because William had made one mistake. Telling her where he was going to hide her wand.
