Chapter Sixty - A Traitors Death
Vhaela Targaryen
The door to the room busts open revealing two masked men. My eyes darted around finding dozens of weapons littered all along their waist. I feel my breath hitch at the sight of them. I knew that my only weapon was the small Valyrian dagger my father had given me.
It was no match compared to a longsword.
Helaena lets out a scream from behind me and I quickly turn to her. A scream of my own escapes from my mouth at the sight of her. Blood is drenched all over her body. From head to toe, she is covered in the thickness of her son's blood.
The men have magically appeared behind her with their weapons logged in Jaehaerys. I let out a gasp each time their blades connect to his body. My body tenses as I try to rush toward them. But my body stays still.
Trapped by an unknown force. My muscles burn as I strain myself to move. Even if it was just an inch. Helaena wails out as she watches her son repeatedly be stabbed to death. Jaehaerys says nothing but his eyes are trained on me. Unmoving.
My mouth opens as I try to scream out but as I do nothing comes out. I frantically begin to open and close my mouth as I attempt to create some sort of sound from me. But to no avail, nothing comes out as I desperately try to yell.
Helaena then slowly begins to stop her wails and turns to look at me.
"How could you Vhaela?" She asks me in a monotone voice.
My eyes widened as I looked confused from the harsh way, she was speaking to me. I had never in my life heard her voice sound as it did. I slightly part my mouth open wanting to say something. But even if I was able to say anything I wouldn't.
The sound of Jaehaerys's voice startles me as he says, "How could you let me die?"
My eyes dart in his direction as I watch the two grown men pierce his body over and over again. They let out loud laughs and I feel my head begin to shake. I feel my hands come up to the side of my head as I try to block out the noise.
I begin to pant out in heavy breaths as my eyes flicker between Helaena and Jaehaerys. Their mouths move telling me something. But I pressed my hands against my ears harshly, not allowing any sound to pass through.
I advert my gaze upon them and continuously shake my head out of fear. My mouth opens as I silently scream out of the situation. This was my fault. This was all my fault. Sobs tear out from me as I watch the blood slowly trickle down my way onto the floor.
My chest rises and falls in sharp pants as the panic surges through me in a swift force. I firmly press my hands deeper into my ears at the sound of loud yelling. But it didn't come from Helaena or Jaehaerys. It was from an entirely different person.
"Vhaela!" I heard someone call out to me.
I feel my body begin to shake as the yelling increases. A trail of wet tears slowly moves from the corner of my ears and down my cheek. The saltness touches my lips and I let out a soft silent sob. The same voice yells out my name again and again.
