Chapter Seventy-Three: The Wave of News

Vhaela Targaryen

I secure the cloak around Viserys and make sure to pull the hood over his small head. He peers up at me with a bright smile on his face. Then, I feel his hand intertwine in mine before he hastily begins to drag me in the direction of the castle.

We had arrived in the early morning hours, and my eagerness to see Aemond again made me restless. I offer my little brother a smile as we walk into the giant courtyard that holds most of the commoners. They are all engrossed in doing their work and chores.

When some start to notice me, I tug Viserys closer to my side, trying to conceal his identity, and greet those who approach me. My people nod their heads in respect before quickly moving back to continue their duties.

Then I hear Viserys ask me, "This is all yours?"

I look down at him, looking at his awe-like expression, and give him a nod of my head. His eyes widen in delight, as a bright smile moves upon his lips. He tugs my hand once again and leads me deeper into the castle.

In an instant, my gaze lands on my husband, his silver hair serving as a clear indicator. He speaks to a nearby guard before casually turning in my direction. I watch as his eye widens, and he then quickly strides toward me, giving a swift stroke of his hand to ward off the guard.

Aemond's gaze is fixed solely on me, causing my heart to skip a beat. His signature smirk appears on his lips as he draws near. I part my mouth to greet him, but he takes matters into his own hands, cupping the side of my cheeks and pulling my lips into his.

He greedily works his mouth against mine like a starved man. I meet his passion with an intensity of my own and soon feel one of his hands entangling itself into my hair. A soft gasp escapes from me at the action before our lips part unexpectedly.

"Get off her!" Viserys yells out as he pushes Aemond's legs away from me.

The action sends another gasp to escape my lips before it is covered with a laugh. Viserys then crosses his arms, attempting to appear intimidating to my husband, who stares down at him with heavy confusion. I quickly place my hands on my little brother's shoulder and pull him closer to me.

I twist him around and lower to his level before telling him, "It's alright. It's alright Viserys he's, my husband."

Viserys scowls in my direction before turning back to look at Aemond. My gaze rises, meeting my husband's stare. His mouth is now parted in shock at the realization. Aemond looks over my brother and then flickers his gaze back to me, with a bright smile.

"Viserys meet my husband, Aemond. Aemond meet my brother, Viserys." I say introducing the two.

Instantly, Viserys pulls back and stumbles into me. My eyebrows scrunch at his action, and I feel his little hand tugging at mine. I give him a questioning look before lowering to his level. His eyes flicker back and forth between Aemond and me, in nervous thought.
