Chapter Seventy-Two: Beyond Westeros

Vhaela Targaryen

The heavy tug on my eyes begins to lull me into a soft slumber with every stroke Aemond makes across my hair. With my head resting in his lap, he had easy access to the silky strands of my silver hair. We sit quietly as I become entranced with his fingers slightly brushing along my scalp.

The feeling was heavenly and if I could sit here all day like this I would. My eyes gently shut, and I let out a low hum of pleasure from his slow movements. Even with my eyes shut I could feel the smirk that begins to grow upon his lips.

But I didn't care.

All I wanted was for him to continue this euphoric sensation.

As quickly as I sub come to the wonderful feeling it is taken from me as I feel Aemond's fingers trail down the side of my cheek. I softly jut my head up and narrow my eyes in his direction. But the sight of a soft frown swiftly erases my expression.

"What is it?" I ask while I rise from my laying position.

I move my hands to intertwine with Aemond's as I stare at him intently. His gaze shifts down silently in thought. At that, I gently squeeze one of his hands to gain his attention. A heavy sigh releases from him which begins to stir my stomach in a bundle of nerves.

A tight pit forms clutching onto my stomach trying to force up the remnants of the supper I had hunted us. I send a large gulp down my throat trying to keep the unease feeling at bay. My eyes dart between Aemond's iliac and sapphire eye.

"It's been two moons since we left Harrenhal. Two moons since you sent Ser Willam to King's Landing, and we still have heard anything." He says slowly as if trying to break the news to me gently.

A frown appears on my lips from his words. I feel my head begin to slowly tilt down. His concern had been on my mind for quite a while now. There must have been something that caused Ser Willam to delay his quest.

At least that is what I hoped.

My thumb caresses Aemond as I think of a way to tell him my plan. I knew that it was dangerous and downright idiotic, but I believe I can do it. It was just a matter of finding out who had my brother and taking him back.

I take a deep breath before I tell my husband, "I think I should go and try to find Viserys."

Aemond's eye widen in surprise before a skeptical expression takes over his face. The frown that he once wears turns into a tight-lipped line upon his lips. I knew he was most likely worried for me, but I hated that he could not see that I was perfectly able to take care of myself.

He attempts to speak out in protest, but I quickly cut him off by saying, "I know, I know it's too dangerous, but Aemond if I can get him, we could potentially trade him for Helaena. We could get her back!"
