Chapter 42

Eva's Pov

After taking the tests Petra took me to see her doctor. I am five weeks pregnant. I told Louis and he was ecstatic. He even went as far as kneeling down to my stomach and talking to the baby about how happy he was and kissing my stomach. We figured to tell everyone after Jane's wedding so everyone would focus on her.

It's Mother's Day and Petra thought it would be great to invite me. But before that me and Louis went over to my brother's house. We were greeted by my niece smiling and hugging my legs. I hug my brother and him and Louis also hugged.

"Lia come here." I told her and she ran upto me. I whispered in her ear that she was going to have a cousin soon.

"Tell your dad what I just told you." I tell her.

"I'm going to have a coulmin." She said

"Close sweetie. Cousin." I say and my brother looks at me with wide eyes. We hug again and Chris and Louis have already fixed up a day that they're going to make the nursery.

Back at the Marbella Louis and I are going to Petra's suite and I see the twins and go over to sit by them when I notice Rafael walking onto the balcony and I follow.

"Enjoying the most awkward brunch ever. Is your brother coming?" I ask him

"I don't think so, no." He says not looking at me. I can sense something is wrong

"Rafael, what's going on?" I ask

"I don't know if I should tell you or not." Rafael says

"You should. Definitely." I say and he looks at me

"I made a bad decision,and now my brother is blackmailing me." He says

"What? How?" I ask

"I made money off an illegal stock tip. I didn't know it was illegal. Derek set me up. And now he's using it to extort money from me, specifically the Fairwick." He says

"But if you didn't know then it's not your fault." I say

"I didn't know. But then after I knew, I used it to buy the Fairwick. I know. I screwed up. I thought I was taking care of my family." He said

"What are you going to do?" I ask

"I don't know." He says and Mateo starts crying so we head inside.

Rogelio played a video of everyone talking about Jane and what makes her a good mother. After the video Anezka made a toast about how Petra was a good mother.

When it was over we were getting ready to leave. Louis came behind me and put his hand on my back and smiled at me. I couldn't help but feel someone's eyes burning a hole in the back of my head. Turn around to see Rafael, but he was in conversation with Jane. As we were about to leave I heard Jane scream at Anezka and she then passed out.

They ended up taking Anezka to the hospital due to her seizure and Louis and Petra had both told me not to come and to get rest. Louis was sitting beside me and we talked until I fell asleep.
