Chapter 8

Two weeks later

Eva's Pov

We are back in Miami. We couldn't find Luisa and Raf is currently on the phone with Jane

"I know, I know. I miss you too. I'm hurrying." He says making me gag. We walk into the Marbella and we go our separate ways.

I go up to my room and start unpacking, when someone knocks on my door. I open the door to see Jane.

"Hey Eva how are you. How was your trip." She asks quickly

"I'm fine, we did not find Luisa and what's wrong." I ask with an amused smile

"Rafael wants to have sex." She breathes out. As my eyes widen and I try to hide my laugh.

"Stop! No it is not funny." She says laughing

"Then why are you laughing?" I say laughing.

We both breathe." Just tell him about your promise to your grandma. I promise he will understand." I say after calming down.

"Ok Thanks." She says and hugs me.

I feel a little bump while she hugs me. My eyes widen, I smile as hard as I can as I bend down to be face to face with the bump. "When did you show up." I say in a baby voice as I get up seeing Jane with a smile on her face.

She leaves to rest as we have to go to court tomorrow.

That night I walk down to the bar with Raf. We sit and order our drinks when Petra came upto us.

"Heard you were back." She says leaning on the counter. Probably from Lachlan.

"We live here. The question is why are you still here?" Raf says looking at her.

"Well, I don't have any money, do I? Till we settle our divorce, anyway. Of course for the right price, I would move on now." She says.

"Were you always a monster? Or did you become one along the way?" Raf asks.

"Should we review our courtship? I was engaged to a man I loved. Who loved me. You were passed over for a promotion and so to get back at Lachlan, you set your sights on me. So tell me, Rafael, who's the monster?" Petra smirks.

Raf looks back at his drink and smiles as Petra smiles sarcastically. My fist balls up as I answer. "Still you Petra. You left the man you 'loved' for someone who flirted with you for 3 minutes. You married him to make money off of him, you cheated on him with his college roommate, while he actually loved you, want me to continue." I say as Raf smiles softly. Petra not knowing how to respond walks away.

I breathe and sit back down while Raf looks at me still smiling. "You're amazing." He says looking at me in awe.

"All I said was the truth." I say and we walk to our respective rooms to go rest for tomorrow.

The next morning we are at the courthouse with Rose and Emilio. Xiomara sitting on the opposite side of the courthouse she waves to me and I smile and wave back.

A few minutes into the trial and I'm bored out of my mind almost asleep on Raf's shoulder not noticing him looking down at me with a small smile on his face.

"A default judgment is ridiculous, your honour. With all due respect, a week is all that we're asking." Our lawyer says

Jane's lawyer stands up "Another week?" He questions "your honour, no. That's another week into my client's unwanted pregnancy. This event has derailed her life and Dr. Alver is exhibiting that same recklessness now by not answering this claim." He addresses the judge and am this close to falling asleep.
