Eva's Pov
The store ended up doing so well I decided to open other stores in bigger cities that people visit more. Much like New York and Los Angeles. Right now Petra is freaking out over the Chef Ludo pop-up.
"This is my baby. I need the pop up to go perfectly." Petra says.
"It will. The event is already sold out. Tons of press are confirmed to attend. You've obsessed over every detail, including how much cologne Rafael is allowed to wear." I say
"Which we agreed is zero, correct?" Petra asks/tells him "I can't have anything interfering with Ludo's food." She continues.
"Come on. Why are you so nervous?" Rafael asks
"Because... Clarissa James is coming." Petra says
"Ooh... is it someone you're seeing? Come on, spill it I want to know everything." Rafael says
"Okay stand down girlfriend." Petra says
"She's an investor. Who specialises in hotel franchising." I say
"As in franchising the Marbella?" Rafael asks
"I want a Marbella in every major city. On every continent. Does that sound insane?" Petra asks
"No." "Yes." Rafael and I replied at the same time. I could see her vision I have the same dream of my brand.
Jane had called in the middle of the night she said she was going crazy but she thought for a second that Rose had swapped Mateo for another baby. Rafael had woken up in the middle of that phone call so I put Jane on speaker. As soon as Jane said the words I looked at Rafael who looked like he had seen a ghost. He can't be serious. Jane and Chris ended up driving here.
"So you actually think it's possible that Mateo was switched at birth?" I ask them
"No. I just mean, it's not...impossible." Rafael says
"Oh, my God." I say
"But wait. Okay. Let's think this through before we all freak out." Rafael says
"Too late." Jane adds speaking for the first time in the conversation
"Rose has a reason for everything. There was no motivation for her to switch out Mateo. She was interested in one thing at the time." Chris says
"The brooch." Jane and I say
"Which she got. It doesn't make sense for her to give you a baby that wasn't yours." Chris points out
"That's true. That's a really good point." Jane says and her forehead crinkles
"Okay? That right there. That crinkle. In your forehead. Mateo has the same exact crinkle in the same place when he frowns." Chris tells Jane
"That's true." Jane says
"And do you remember when we put my baby pictures side by side next to Mateo's?" Rafael asked
"You were twins" Jane says
"Rationally, there's no way Mateo isn't your son. Your agent was giving you an idea for a book it's not real." I say
Jane felt better about it and they had stayed around to talk for a bit before leaving to go home to the kids.
The next day Rafael and I walked into his office in Marbella to find Luisa standing in the middle of the room.
"If you don't leave. I'm calling security." Rafael said
"I am leaving. For good. I came to say goodbye." She said
"Didn't we just do this?" Rafael says
"This isn't going to an ashram for two weeks this is a more permanent goodbye." Luisa says
"Goodbye." Rafael says
"I heard you guys are getting married. I'm so happy for you guys and I'm really sorry for everything. I love you guys." She says
"Well, maybe that would have meant something if you weren't involved with a criminal." Rafael says and show her the door. Before she could leave I stepped in front of her and hugged her. She was still like my sister.
Jane was still uncertain about Mateo so she looked it up and Mateo had a little birthmark which could be a temporary skin discolouration from labor, but also could be a birthmark. Mateo doesn't have a birthmark. They are going to get a DNA test.
Petra had called us and Magda is back as Clarissa's guru. So now our hotel's fate hangs in the hands of the psychopath who wants money.
They got the results and Mateo is their son. I mean I knew that but it's nice to know from a professional.
Alba had gotten Magda threatening her on her phone and threatened Magda to leave the country. She is now my favourite person ever.
After everything with the DNA test we decided to confront Rose. Rafael wasn't so sure of the idea but Jane wanted to because she couldn't let Rose have a power over her.
On the way we passed a white van. When we got to the prison we heard that Rose escaped. Luisa had been helping the cops including my brother. Luisa is on her way to a safe house in Belize but unfortunately things didn't go as planned and Rose had escaped again. Luisa wanted to keep Rose away from our family.
