Chapter 48

Eva's Pov

Petra just told me about the flamingo outfits for the first ever theme night. I need to see Jane's reaction to this so I head down there with Scott.

So guys we're damn near packed for our flight ever theme night Flamingo Friday. Ladies your outfits." Scott says and holds out the flamingo dress and cap. To my surprise Jane says it's fun in a monotone voice. After Scott leaves Jane and Lina come upto me.

"I tried to stop him." I say before they can say anything

I get a phone call from Jane asking me if I've been paying half of her rent. I said no she told me that Rafael didn't either.

In other news Jane just informed me that the staff is staging a walk out if Scott doesn't loosen the reigns on them. Honestly Scott is out of control so I'm fine with it. And then she informed me that Scott was going to her house for dinner. This just keeps getting better.

Rafael just called to tell me that Petra wants to sell her shares of the Marbella.

"And then she told me I had 48 hours to do it, which is crazy. I think there's something going on." He says

"Like what?" I ask

"Like she's not herself. I think Scott's blackmailing her." He says

"Are you serious." I say

"It happened with Milos." He says

"I mean Jane's having dinner with them tonight. I'll tell her to keep an eye out." I tell him.

"Oh before I forget, I bumped into Rogelio who asked me to give you this." I say as I pull out a gift basket. He takes it from me. Our hands brush against each other and I get butterflies in my stomach. I quickly take my hand to my bump

"Are you okay? Is something wrong?" Rafael asks as he comes closer to me seeing that I had my hand on my stomach.

"No, no. Just the baby kicked." I say and he smiles

"Can I?" He asks and I nod. He puts his hand on my bump and on instinct the baby kicked and we both laugh.

The next day Jane calls Rafael to tell him that dinner did not go well. She ended the phone call asking if he was okay with the walkout. He said he hated the flamingo initiative. He hung up the phone when the doorbell rang. It was Louisa

"I've been looking for you. I was hoping we could talk?" She asks

"I told you I'm fine." Rafael says

"No, I'm not." She says. I sense that this is a private discussion and get up to leave when Rafael grabs my wrist, a little harder than he wants to and I immediately pull away. He looks at me in shock as my breathing becomes heavier. After a minute I'm fine. I guess old habits die hard. I assure both of them that I'm fine and Luisa should continue.

"I just came from the police station, and talking about Rose again and what happened, and going over details, I'm feeling a little unhinged. Like I need to drink. And I probably shouldn't be alone." She says. Rafael says he had to go to a charity thing so I spend the rest of the night with Luisa and Rogelio who was doing Rafael a favour.

The next day I'm in Raf's office when Jane walked in

"I don't know how but I do know that,that is not Petra. It's Anezka." She says
