Chapter 56

Eva's Pov

We had reported Scott's remains to the police who had now officially told us that the remains were found on the grounds of the Fairwick hotel and not the Marbella. I sighed in relief trying not to draw any attention towards me.

After Dennis left Rafael called us into his offices

"Okay, so regardless of where Scott was found, we have to get out in front of the story." He says

"I'm implementing a complete lockdown. All media calls will be forwarded directly to me, the staff will inform guests that the blocked off area on the beach is due to renovations,  and security have been given strict orders to keep all press of the premises." Petra says

"But don't you think..." Rafael starts but gets cut off

"This is a kids hotel. A whisper of murder and we're ruined." Petra says and we all agreed. I also talked to security about letting Louis and Clara in when they have to.

Petra is currently judging the staff on how long it takes them to serve customers. She really wants this place to be perfect. Rafael try's to lighten the situation by saying the server took more time yesterday than today so he's improving, which led to Petra being annoyed at Rafael.

Someone leaked the story of Scott's murder. Rafael was right we should have gotten ahead of it, all it takes is one unhappy employee to ruin everything and we have more than one. Courtesy of Petra.

My brother told me that Jane had ended up punching Dennis in the face. I really would have loved to be there but I get why she did it. I mean if someone I loved had been accused of something they didn't do I would fight. Oh wait it did happen. Instead of fighting we just proved them wrong.

There was an article about how the murder wasn't at the Marbella but at the Fairwick. After looking at a bunch of footage from the Marbella and from Rogelio's filming camera we found what we were looking for. It was hilarious to watch Petra and Rogelio communicate since they we both misinterpreting each other's accents.

Scott was drunk and said he would go for a swim and the cops did say it's most likely accidental drowning. Being a detective could be a career path for Petra. She saved the Fairwick from a bunch of bad reviews. Little did I know she saved them out of guilt.

Jane also ended up talking to Dennis in a boxing ring since she really wanted to hit him. It ended with an ice pack to her face when he accidentally hit her too hard.

Rafael ended up hiring Jane to manage the lounge. It wasn't a step up from her current job but it was a step up from waitressing.
