Chapter 63

Eva's Pov

Jane told me and Rafael about how Fabian would not take the hint

"It's a little selfish to not let someone know where you're at emotionally." I say

"Petra still hasn't given you an answer." Jane asks

"She says she's thinking it over. It's been a week." I say

"It is a really big decision." Rafael says

"And I respect that but if she doesn't feel the same way she could just say it. It's not like I'm forcing her to have the same feelings." I say and Jane and Rafael share a look.

We are now at Sunday brunch which is very awkward. I take all the kids to wash their hands and I can hear Jane, Petra and Rafael talk about things. I couldn't hear what, but when I came out with the kids they all looked at me. They were talking about me and Petra.

I walk around the corner to see Rafael and Petra talking and then Rafael running off. Since it's so awkward I run off after him.

The cops were not able to trace the call to Luisa.

Third person Pov

Petra went to Rafael to ask hi opinion about what she should do about getting with Eva

"I think it's a bad idea." He says "you guys are different." He says hesitantly. That's not the real reason why he doesn't want them together.

"What do you mean different." She asked him

He wanted to say that Eva was adorable but in a way she could turn heads and had a great personality and was the best friend anyone could have and anyone would fall in love with her. And that's why he didn't want them together.

"The twins think of her as their aunt?" He says making it sound more like a question. Petra figured he was no help and went to Jane

"I think you should go for it." She says

"Really?" Petra asks

"I mean your kids love her she has helped you out quite a lot even just by listening she's a great person." Jane keeps listing and Petra thought about why Rafael was so against it.

She told Rafael she would go for it just to see his reaction. In front of Petra it was minuscule but once Petra mentioned Jane. He was fuming

"What did you say to Petra?" Have asks Jane

"What they would be good together. Petra's confused, they both like each other." She responds to him

"No, no this can't happen." He says sitting on the bed head in his hands.

"Why not?" Jane asks raising her voice

"Because she's supposed to be with me." He screams "Eva is supposed to be with me." He says and walks out of the room leaving Jane shocked.

Eva's Pov

The next day Petra told came upto me I hoped she would have an answer but she told me that Rafael's cancer came back. Rafael came into the room and I just avoided eye contact before he noticed something was wrong.

"Look I heard your cancer came back." I say, my voice cracking.

"No. That was just trying to get Luisa and Eileen back to Miami." He says

"What?" I ask

"I'm working with the police, I left her a message. I'm fine." He says and I hug him. Not knowing someone was eavesdropping and watching them. That's why he didn't want me to see her. Petra thought.

The same day it was the twin's and Mateo's play in school and to celebrate we took them out for ice cream. Clara and I joining as per the request of Ellie and Anna. Clara was seated in my lap and Rafael was feeding her the ice cream. The spoon being too big for her to hold. Missing the looks from Petra and Jane.

That night after Clara was asleep I got a phone call involving both Jane and Petra. Jane kept rambling on about something but the on thing she said which was clear was "go to her." So I left my room and Petra was already outside she said yes and we kissed. Not knowing that there was a crime lord arrested right beneath us
