Chapter 61

Eva's Pov

After Petra went to go see her sister. She was talking to someone. I went up to her.

"Who was that?" I ask

"The lawyer I hired to represent Anezka." She says

"You're helping her? The same woman who paralysed you and tried to steal your life?" I ask

"Okay, yes, Anezka did some horrible things, but she's not a murder. Besides she would have never killed Scott. She loved him for... whatever reason." She says

"That might be true." I say as I close the door. "But that's not why you're helping her." I continue

"Fine, also... it might be me in that video threatening to kill Scott." She says and sits down at her desk "I just wanted them to end their ridiculous relationship and get Anezka to leave." She says and I sit down in front of her.

"Tell me what happened." I ask her

"Is had enough so I fired him. Then I texted Anezka from his phone and ended the relationship. Later, I slipped a little something in Anezka's drink to help her sleep. And then I made it clear to Scott that Anezka didn't want to be with him anymore. My plan would have worked perfectly. Except Scott had to die and ruin everything." She says and I shoot her a look. "May he rest in peace." She concludes

"So you've been lying to the police this whole time?" I ask her

"I mean... high-level, yes, but it only became relevant when they ruled it a murder." She says.

"Look I kept the truth from you because I didn't want to ask you to lie for me. Or Rafael especially since he's on probation. I just need them to stop focusing on my sister. She couldn't have killed him, she was drugged in my penthouse." She says

"I have a P.I. I'll put him on it." I say and Chuck walks in and she leaves with him for lunch.

Jane noticed my piney look towards Petra so I had to pull her into the kitchen to explain it to her. By the look on her face I could tell she was surprised. And I legitimately asked her for her judgement. She said she didn't want her hurt again. I could agree.

Elvis met with me Petra and Rafael and we found something. We need to find out who J. P. is and Elvis left.

"I'm sure this is a stupid question... but do you have feelings for me? Like romantic feelings." She asks me. I thought back to what Jane said

"What? No. Of course not." I say and she sighs in relief. Well that hurt.

The next morning I decided to leave Petra a voicemail

"When you asked me before, I decided it, but I do have feelings for you. And I know you are with Chuck... but I don't know, I guess I'm calling because I wanted to say before it's too late, that you shouldn't be." I say and I keep the phone.
