I hold the masquerade mask delicately in my hands, admiring its intricate details. The mask is adorned with feathers, jewels, and fabrics, creating a stunning display of colors and textures...
A knock interrupts me...I turn around seeing Ava has already come inside,
My mind couldn't process her right now...she's- she's beautiful...her dress a romantic wedding gown that features delicate lacework and a soft, flowing silhouette. The dress has a fitted bodice that flares out into a full, floor-length skirt with lots of volume.

"I feel good," she says, flashing me a smile that reveals her dimples. My heart swells with affection for her. Man, I'm lucky to be standing here with her. I watch as she delicately slips off her masquerade mask and tucks it into her jacket pocket. The mask is a work of art, with intricate details and a beautiful design. As she holds it in her hand, I can see the way the light catches the feathers and jewels, making them sparkle and shine.

"I mean...you look good too," she says, pointing out my appearance. "Really good." Her cheeks flush with a soft pink hue.

"Thank you"

"You guys done?" Matt knocks

"yeah," I call out, I walk towards the door and open it for Ava, feeling a sense of unease as we step out of the room and head towards the car. I can't help but think about the night when he saw me beheading his wife, and I wondered if he will still invite me. Despite my worries, he did and we arrive at the mansion moments later, and I can feel the tension building inside me. me and mansion have a history of death and destruction, . I put on my mask and straighten my suit and tie, trying to calm my nerves before helping Ava out of the car. The cold wind bites and screams past us, and I can feel my heart racing with palpitations. It's a strange feeling like my heart is skipping beats or beating too hard or too fast. I try to ignore it and focus on the task at hand, but the feeling lingers in the back of my mind. As we walk towards the mansion.
The guard scans our masks before we could enter, and I'm immediately transported to another world. The room is decorated with masks hanging on the walls and glitter and sequins sprinkled on the tables and countertops. The candles and candelabras set, and the twinkling lights and light strings add to the magical tone. Spotlights highlight the special effects, such as the masks on display and the feather and bead vases. The guests are dressed in their finest attire, and their masks add an air of mystery and secrecy. The music is enchanting, and the dance floor is filled with couples waltzing to the rhythm.
Ava squeals, hooking her arm into mine, "Holy shit," she exclaims, taking in the scene around us.
Matt creeps up behind us, whispering loud enough for both of us to hear before blending in with the masked people.

"You two have fun," he says, and I can't help but feel a sense of unease.

"Come on, William, dance," Ava tries to pull my arm, but I stand firm, yanking her closer to me.

"You are aware Riley might be here, right?" I whisper, and she lifts her head from my shoulder, looking into my eyes again.

" As Matt said, we'll turn Riley in once we find her, and we'll be free," she says, but I'm not sure I agree with her. If we're free from Riley, then what? Am I supposed to just settle down and ignore my urges? Pretend to be this family man? Apologize for killing a whole continent, which translates into 4.25%
.
"Dance with me," she says more softly, trying a different approach. "Please." I glance around, seeing everyone stealing glances our way while pretending to be talking to others but actually talking about us.

"Here, we don't know each other. Do I make myself clear?" I say, and I feel her disappointment, ever since we made love. I feel everything she does, but I walk away, leaving her be. I have to find out where that bomb is. It's a big ass bomb, and I wonder where it could be hidden. As I walk through the crowd, I come across a group of people whose masks cover their entire heads. They are covered in gold and shaped like a rabbit and a plague crow.
