Chapter 7

Sakura's POV

I parked my pink car on the parking lot of the Uchiha Corporation. I came to work later than usual because I had some things to take care of. I walked towards the building, feeling my excitement building at the thought of seeing my boyfriend Sasuke again.

I smiled confidently as I walked towards the elevator. I waited inside the elevator to go to Sasuke's office. On the way to the office, I saw a girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes with one bang covering her left eye. I hate to admit but she was beautiful very beautiful. She could be a model for crying out loud.

I could feel jealousy and envy building inside my chest. She was walking down the hallway, talking and laughing with Shikamaru. I passed them by and apparently they didn't see me. How rude.

I just flipped my hair, continuing to walk to Sasuke's office. I knocked on the door and I heard a simple," Come in," I smiled as I opened the door. But my smile slowly faded as I saw who it was with Sasuke. It was Sasuke's mother, Mikoto Uchiha.

"O-ohh, Mrs Uchiha how are you?," I asked stuttering a bit with a crocked smile, fixing my skirt and hair. She looks at me up and down.

"I'm fine thank you, so you are one of Sasuke's employee's?," She asked with cold eyes.

"Yes, I'm at the marketing department," I said nervously as I stood awkwardly in front of her.

"You don't say," she said slowly not smiling one bit at me. She got up from her chair and looked at Sasuke with a warm smile.

"Sasuke, I will be expecting you and Naruto to come over tonight for dinner, your cousin is coming to visit us from abroad," Mikoto said with a smile.

"Okay mother," Sasuke said smiling slightly at his mother.

"Oh and tell Naruto to make his special pie. He just makes the best pies ever and I'm sure Shisui will be happy to taste one of Naruto's pies," Mikoto said happily. I frowned slightly clenching my fists as Mrs Uchiha continues to talk about Naruto as if he's something special.

"Okay mother, I'll do that," Sasuke said again.

"Okay I'll see you tonight at dinner," She said as she began to walk towards the door and I smiled grabbing the opportunity to talk to her.

"That is a lovely blouse you got on Mrs Uchiha," I said with a smile.

"I know, it's vintage," She said and walked away. I look after her shocked and somehow offended. I looked at Sasuke with wide eyes, hoping that he would say something or do something but he just shrugged.

"Sasuke," I said shocked at him.

"What do you want me to say, she's my mother," he said sitting back down on his seat and opened his laptop.

"But she was so disrespectful to me," I said feeling upset that he didn't bother to stand up for me.

"What did you want me to say to her," he asked getting annoyed looking at me with a frown.

"There you go again, just like in high school you never stood up for me to your mother. Will this ever change?!" I asked frowning.

"Well I would have if you weren't so disrespectful to her first. Do you think that she would ever stop thinking about the posts you have said on your Instagram about her and her business?, You never even apologized to her," he said in a cold voice and I rolled my eyes.

"That was seven years ago, she must just get over it," I said annoyed that we are still talking about what happened, seven years ago!.

"Do you think that she would just get over it, after the money she has spent trying to clear her name and reputation, the apologize she had to say and most importantly she has lost partnership with other businesses. Do you think that it's so easy for her to come to you and talk to you like nothing happened. This is the very thing that made me break it off with you Sakura, you think about no one but yourself. You're self centered," he said irritated and annoyed.

I just stood there shocked and a little hurt by what he said. I sighed and walked up to his desk and set on a chair.

"I'm sorry, it's just...," I paused looking down at my hands," I just wanted to feel important to you Sasuke and I didn't mean to hurt your mom. I was just upset at our break up and I just took it out on her. I'm really sorry," I said hoping that I sounded genuine.

"It's fine, but I'm not the person you should be apologising to Sakura, now come here," he said opening his arms. I smiled as I quickly got up from my seat and walked over to him, sitting on his lap gently wrapping my arms around his neck. He wrapped his around my waist.

He kissed my cheek and pulls me closer to him. I took a whiff of his cologne and I sighed softly leaning against his chest. He smelled so good.

"You know that you will always be important to me Sakura but I can't just tell my mother what to do. Just talk to her," he said and I nodded.

"Okay, I understand. So, you will be going to dinner tonight?," I asked pulling away to look up at him. He sighed running his hands through his hair.

"Yeah, I have to be there, my cousin will be coming home finally after five years of being apart from us. He will be expecting me there," he said and I nodded.

"So tomorrow night then, will you come and see me?," I said pouting slightly.

"Of course," he said with a smirk kissing my forehead. I smiled as we kissed deeply.
