Chapter 40

It was now 9:00 in the evening arriving to Toronto, Canada. It was a bit chilly but I didn't mind, I'm definitely used to it.

We were in a Cadillac Escalade, I'm guessing it's one of the service cars of the Richards. I'm so close to officially meeting Grayson's parents and I can't help but feel the nerves kicking in again.

I was sat in the middle of the seat while Grayson took the window side of the car. My body was leaned towards him, his left arm wrapped behind my waist.

In some way, he knew what I was thinking, giving me the reassuring squeeze on my waist.

We really had to be discreet about everything. If the paparazzi's were to find us here— together, I'd be dead to my parents. My mom is the type of person to make a scene anywhere, so I'm sure that her popping out unannounced in the Richards' house wouldn't even surprise me.

Nicole didn't know about this little getaway, all she knows is that I have an important meeting to attend in Paris, she obviously believed it.

And god, if the rest of the campus knew— we'd be the gossip the whole year until we graduate. You never really know the rumors they can come up with.

Suddenly, we enter this huge modern gate, the driver tapping his card before the gate automatically opened and I set eyes on a mansion.

I knew our house was huge, but this was definitely one of the most beautiful house I've seen. The driveway was big enough for a whole traffic of cars.

The lights inside the house were open, and the stars making everything light up.

Pulling up at the front door, the butler of helper stepped off the 5 stairs leading to our car, opening the door for Grayson.

Stepping out of the car, I grabbed my purse. Grayson stood there waiting for me. "Sir." the butler says, welcoming Grayson as he takes our bags.

Looking around the house, I couldn't help but be in awe. He grew up here.

Grayson takes my hand, guiding us to the front door.

He squeezes my hand three times before opening the door.

The interior of the house looking just as modern as it was outside. Mr and Mrs Richards standing on the foyer, clearly waiting for our arrival.

It was Mrs Richards who approached us first, "Hi, my darling!" she greets Grayson with enthusiasm and excitement. God I wish I can hear that from my mom.

Mrs Richards moves to me, making me drop my hand from Grayson's hold. "So nice to meet you again, Madisyn." she says giving my cheek a peck. "Likewise, Mrs Richards." I smile.

"Oh please! Josie, remember?" She chuckles.

"Likewise, Josie" I repeat.

Josie lets go of me, as Mr Richards hugs his son on my right. Giving out his left hand for me to shake after. "Nice meeting you, Madisyn." I shake his hand.

"You too, Mr Richards."

"I see my son is capable of settling a relationship with someone out of his league." He teases, earning a laugh from me.

"Dad." Grayson warns.

I squeezed Grayson's arm, "I love your dad already!" I continue to laugh.

"Let's get you settled in, dinner will be ready in a few minutes." Josie says.

Grayson's parents left us, and I'm still chuckling over what Mr Richards said. Obviously wasn't funny for Grayson, that familiar stoic look on his face.
