Trip into town(short)

Keith had been bored all day. He had been assigned to team and they were out doing who knows what. He sat on his bed in his own private quarters and looked out the window. He looked at his scroll. He held his thumb over the call button of a certain red hooded cookie obsessed girl. He pressed it reluctantly.

Ruby: Hey Keith, what's up

She said, full of enthusiasm that made Keith smile.

Keith: Hey Ruby, I just wanted to know if you wanted to head out to vale to just walk around. I'm bored out of my mind and you're the first person I thought of.

Keith could hear what sounded like yang on the other end of the line seemingly teasing her little sister.

Ruby: YANG! WE'RE JUST HANGING OUT GET OUT!

Keith just sighed.

Ruby: sorry about that, you know how big sisters are..... Actually forget I said that. But sure I'll go down to vale just let me get dressed.

Keith: alright, see you there.

Keith hung up, he put his scroll down and walked over to his closet. He put on some casual clothes and looked in the mirror and thought he looked presentable. He heard a knock at his door and he went over to open it to reveal ozpin.

Ozpin: I came to congratulate yell, on a job well down at initiation

Keith: I didn't do much I got knock saved ruby and that put me out of commission for the rest of the initiation.

Ozpin: I'm aware, but mistakes happen especially when blinded by emotions.

Ozpin teased Keith. His age and experience helped ozpin understand when someone was in love. Keith brushed simply brushes it off.

Ozpin: but you did complete the trial and you are now officially a student. Which means you have your own responsibilities as a team leader.

Keith: I know. You've trained me for this for most of my life. I can't help to feel it was abit bias to know that you chose me to be team leader.

Ozpin simply smiles.

Ozpin: you have skills of an experience huntsman. You have proven yourself more than enough. But If one thing you need is. It's becoming a team player. Especially with the people in your team varying in skill and background.

Ozpin turns around to walk away. He smiles lightly.

Ozpin: and maybe just a little bit of me being bias.

He says. He takes a few steps and decides to linger on a certain subject.

Ozpin: somehow, My personal alumni always end up falling for flowers of the rose variety.

Ozpin walks away. Keith has a light blush on his face but brushes it off and leaves his room.

*Timeskip*

Keith arrived at vale. He admired the beauty of the city. He walked around trying to find ruby, she had texted him that she was getting Cookies from a bakery near where he was.

KEITH!!!!

He heard someone behind him say. He turned around and saw ruby running up to him with a paperbag full of freshly baked cookies.

Ruby: jeez... You walk fast.

Keith smiles and just laughs.

Ruby: sorry I took so long. I decided to wait for the baker to pull a fresh batch.

Keith shakes his head and chuckles.

Keith: ruby, you look like the kind of person that can tell the difference from when a cookie was made an hour ago or thirty minutes ago.
