Two steps forward, Two steps back

*Arrowhead compound*

Strand and the lieutenant stood on a hill looking down at the ruins of the village they were trying to turn into a compound. Strand was furious, less about the lieutenant's failures and more about the fact that Marksman had resurfaced after not causing them any problems in nearly a year. Strand balled his fist and turned to the lieutenant.

Strand: How did this happen!

The lieutenant flinched a bit before taking a step back from Strand.

Lieutenant: He came out of nowhere to save that Ruby Rose girl and the rest of her friends.

Strand: You let them go!

Lieutenant: It wasn't our intention, Marksman came out of nowhere with that drunk huntsman guy, they also had someone with a semblance that could create illusions because that big guy i was gonna kill shattered into class.

Strand knew that Neo was with Keith and this seemed to infuriate him more, he hadn't thought about the girl since she had left shortly after the fall of beacon.

Lieutenant: So what's our next move?

Strand: I don't know, you tell me "Lieutenant"

Lieutenant: What do you mean sir?

Strand: Let me tell you something, i made you the leader of this operation because you had some balls back at beacon and those big ass balls that you have, made me think that you could handle taking over an ABANDONED village and capturing some KIDS for the people we're working with, but apparently you balls ran dry and you fled the second you had a knife stabbed through your cheek, well let me tell you this...Have you ever been shot before?

Strand takes out his reforged mars vulture and he points it directly into the lieutenant's face, the lieutenant gets down on his knees with his hands raised in the air staring directly down the barrel, nothing can be heard except the soft wind picking up and the heavy breathing from the lieutenant. A single shot rings out and the lieutenant flinches expecting for everything to go silent but instead he opens his eyes and sees Strand looking down at him with the barrel emitting smoke, the lieutenant looks to his side and sees a bullet hole into the ground next to him and he looks back up at Strand.

Strand: As much i don't like failures, you did save my life back at beacon, so i think i should at least give you a second chance BUT make I'll make it very clear, if you fail me again by not bringing the heads of every SINGLE of those kids, i will chop your head off and use it to mark the border of this village, do you understand?

The lieutenant looks up at Strand and nods, Strand reaches out his hand and helps him off the ground.

Strand: You do what you have to find them because we are in some deep shit right now and failure for me or anyone else will result in a lot if not all of us dying.

*Patch*

Coda leaned on a tree and strummed an old electric guitar that Tai let him borrow, he was trying to tune it properly as he watches his wife spar with her father, she was using her atlas prosthetic and she seemed to have gotten used to it pretty quickly. After a few minutes Yang manages to throw a punch that breaks through Tai's guard and causes him to stumble back, he holds his arm and pants heavily.

Tai: Woah, that thing packs a punch!

Yang: We've been at this for weeks, I get it. You wanna make sure I can still fight.

Yang punches her fist together and smirks.

Yang: I think I'm doing just fine

Tai: Well, you're close.
