Past, Present and Future(short)

Keith sat in the loft of the barn on the Brunswick Farm Property, everything had fallen apart for him, everything he tried to hide was out and now the people he cared about the most hate him for it, Keith was lost in this moment.

Onyx: The truth hurts...

Keith: Don't act like you didn't want me to hide it either...

Onyx: it was my mistake... Things are happening fast.. I should've decided on actually wanting you to tell the truth

Keith: Speaking of truths, why didn't you tell me that Salem was our soul's mother?

Onyx: because I didn't know that either... I guess it's a suppressed memory...

Keith: I wish it would've stayed surpessed...

Onyx: Well there's no going back on that now, so what's the plan for here on out?

Keith: We get the lamp to atlas and after that...  I'm not sure

Onyx: Sucks that not even ozpin has a plan...

Keith: Technically there wasn't a plan to begin with... He dug his own grave and his still stuck in it, none of us know where to go from here...

Onyx: I wish my attempt on Salem's life was successful, I could've been with my wife and daughter, you well... I'm not so sure...

Keith: I wasn't much before you to be honest, my mom died when I was young... After that I just kinda stayed at home with my dad while he went to work at Haven, then I started hearing your voice, then my dad told lionheart and I was shipped off to beacon... I don't understand what made me special enough to host your soul...

Onyx: Like you, I wasn't much before I got to speak to my past incarnation's soul, I never knew who my parents were and I was a bit of trouble maker... I began hearing voices when I was around 9 and I thought I was crazy, he led me to beacon and that's how I met ozpin... I didn't get to learn much in terms of relationships with other people and well I guess I grew up empty with my only purpose being my training... Then I started reading books in the library... "The art of peace"

Keith: We wrote that right?

Onyx: Correct, I read it to enhance my memories on the past... It would open up those memories and I could learn somewhat of what our past lives learned about life and I continued using that knowledge to grow as a person, then I actually got to join as a student... That's when I met tai, Qrow, Raven and Ruby's mother

Keith: Summer...

Onyx: She completed me, we were just kids at the time but I enjoyed my time with her... It was so hard to confess because I didn't know anything about romance, but tai... That insurable excuse of a man managed to set us up... He sent me a letter about him needing help with homework, and he sent her a confession letter sighed as anonymous... They both said to meet at the top of a balcony outside the dorms. Then I waited for a few minutes and then I saw her walking over in her white cloak with a basket of cookies, she seemed shocked to see me there and I was just confused, we talked for a few moments and I told her I was waiting for tai... She seemed disappointed ause I think she assumed I was the one who sent the letter and well she told me why she was up there and how the mysterious person was a no show... We shared the cookies and I told her that who ever it was, that they were missing out on something truly special, she asked me what I meant and I almost choked on my cookie... Then I told that she was a great person and that she deserved better than a no show and then she told that she wasn't all that special and that it was probably a joke played by somebody and I told that it definitely wasn't a joke and probably someone wanted to genuinely to be with her, of course it hurt me to think of her being with someone else but I didn't know any better. She told me that she'd wait a little longer for them and I told her that I'd wait with her, she asked me why and I said that I simply wanted to see her be happy and she called me a weirdo then we both laughed for a few seconds before we continued to talk about whatever, then i told her that the person who she was waiting was probably not coming, she looked sad at me saying that and I guess she seemed a bit mad that I would suggest that she came out here for nothing, she then began to break down and it broke my heart seeing her like that, I told her that she didn't need to worrying about anymore no shows, she asked me why and I told her that it was because I wouldn't let them even ask her out and she asked me why? And I guess it just slipped and I told her that it was because I couldn't let someone else steal her from me... She smiled and I took her hand, and we shared our first kiss... Then that dumbass Tai's flash goes off from his scroll and we both found out this was all a setup

Keith: Sounds like a great memory

Onyx: it is...

Keith: But well aren't you mad that tai married your wife?

Onyx: I'm dead, why would it matter? She moved on and lived a happy life with the family she always wanted before she also passed, I'm honestly glad it was tai... I couldn't imagine anyone else taking care of her for me

Keith: So... In the end you're life really didn't matter? Everything you had is gone and everyone you knew moved on

Onyx: At least I got to experience it, everyone moves on from one's death eventually, do you think people remember the first humans that lived? Try to think back in our memories, do you remember every little thing we've done?

Keith: I do my best to make sure I remember the faces of everyone, they meant something to us at some point...

Onyx: it hurts you to do that, don't let the lines between past and present be blurred, you can lose yourself that way

Keith: I'll take that advice

Keith began to hear talking from outside, he moves closer to the window and he sees Coda and Adam walking around the property, they notice him before they go back to talking to each other, keith sighs as he sits back down wondering what exactly would come next.
