Afternoon preparations (short)

For as long as Glynda could remember Keith was always like a son to her. Keith's father knew Keith was special due to the fact that ozpin could feel it when Keith was born and since Keith's father was a good friend of ozpin, he would let ozpin train his son. Ozpin cared for Keith but the headmaster of beacon was a busy man and couldn't always give Keith the parental care. That's where Glynda came in, she would take care of Keith and act like a mother to him. As he grew, he became independent and rebellious usually getting into trouble but always knowing his place. He was smart, Glynda would always take credit for that, but as all mothers one day feel, Keith would leave the nest and become his own man and that was what Glynda was seeing now, not only was Keith taking duties that only ozpin would do but he was the leader of a team and even had a girlfriend. She knew onyx was influencing him somehow but even then she knew Keith was different. Glynda knew that her time with Keith was coming to an end especially with missions for the first years starting on Monday. She had find a way to spend time with him before then and what better way than getting Keith a suit for the dance.

Glynda: hurry up Mr.Marksman, we're going to be late for our appointment with the tailor.

Glynda says as she knocks on the door of Team Task's dorm. Keith opens the door fully dressed.

Keith: jeez you don't have to rush me.

Glynda: I don't care, we have to go now.

Keith rolls his eyes and follows Glynda as they exit the building and make their way to a shuttle taking them to vale. Glynda tries to start conversation with Keith.

Glynda: how are things going with Ms.Rose

Keith: it's been good, she's a great girl, I'm lucky to have her.

Glynda gives Keith a warm smile.

Glynda: I'm glad you found someone that makes you happy.

Keith smiles at Glynda before raising an eyebrow.

Keith: what's up with you today, you seem less...I don't know...."crabby" than usually

Glynda rolls her eye

Glynda: quiet

Keith smiles smugly

Keith: there's the Glynda I know

His smug smile becomes his normal smile and he looks outside the window of the shuttle. Glynda places her hand on Keith's shoulder.

Glynda: It's an odd experience watching you grow up, I wonder if this is what it's like to be a mother, because after all the things you've had me put up with I certainly think I have the right to be called your mother.

Keith remains silent but Glynda's words comfort him.

Keith: I guess that's one way to think of it.

A few minutes later they land in vale and Glynda is quick to drag Keith to the tailors. Once inside Keith locks around the boutique looking at all the dresses and suits, most have "sold" tags on them possibly from other beacon students. Keith sighs ready for the long hours he's gonna spend shopping.

*Elsewhere*

Dj and Cy were walking through the beacon court yard enjoying their Saturday, they noticed a familiar ginger haired girl in the distance and all of a sudden Cy hides behind Dj as she walks past them.

Dj: dude grow a pair, it's just a girl man. Go ask her out.

Cy: it's not just a girl dude, it's Nora. She's the best

Dj shakes his head

Dj: seriously you have a bad taste in women.

Cy: shut up, when we were kids you hooked up with that one girl with acne, that was a rough time.
