Chapter 16

Last we left off Mikaela fought against Gil Helbram and Dreyfus and Helbram was defeated by King and Meliodas finally made it to where Hendrickson is and saved Arthur.

We cut to Meliodas and Hendrickson having a stand off.

Hendrickson: It's been a long time, hasn't it? Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins. Your alone right now?

Meliodas: Yeah, I lost the others somewhere along the way.

Hendrickson: You think you can face me without them? Still as confident as ever, aren't you?

Asks Hendrickson while Arthur was looking on in shock from seeing Meliodas.

Arthur: 'Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins? Than means he's.'

Meliodas: Where are you keeping Elizabeth? Give her back to me.

Hendrickson: I'm afraid that's not possible.

Meliodas glared at him before jumping at him with incredible speed and trying to knee him in the face, but Hendrickson quickly blocked it. Meliodas then sends multiple slashes at him, though Hendrickson swiftly dodges each of them before countering with a punch, but Meliodas quickly blocks it by crossing his sword and its sheath, though the force of the punch sent Meliodas sliding back to Arthur.

*Flashback*

10 years ago

We hear the sound of two things clashing a couple of times before we see a wooden sword get knocked from the hands of an eleven-year-old Gil who kneels on the ground, sweating and breathing heavily. And we see Meliodas standing on the side and a seven-year-old Mikaela, who is holding a wooden sword of his own, standing in front of Gil .

Meliodas: What's wrong littl Gil? Are you pooped out already.

Mikaela: We can take a break if you want.

Gilthunder: I'm never gonna make it.

Mikaela: Huh?

Gilthunder: After all, there is no one stronger than you and Father who can compete with that. I know I can't.

Mikaela: Not with that attitude, you can't.

Meliodas: Exactly. You have to do something about it.

Gilthunder: Easy for you to say. You're not the one losing to someone four years younger than you.

??: Your eyes can see through evil, your mouth can speak only truths, your heart is filled with justice, and your sword will crush the wicked.

Said a voice getting their attention, and they turned around to see a twelve-year-old Margaret walking over.

Margaret: To stand by what you believe in is right until the very end. Isn't that the most important thing when you're a knight?

Gilthunder: Uh. Margaret.

Mikaela: Hey Margaret.

Margaret: Hello Mikaela.

Said Margaret turning to Mikaela with a smile before turning back to Gil.

Margaret: Nothing else matters. Meliodas and your father play no part in it. After all, there is no doubt in my mind that you'll be the kindest and strongest Holy Knight of all. That's honestly what I believe.

Said Margaret getting a Node from Gil as they stood there staring at each other.

Mikaela: I'm starting to feel like a third wheel over here. What about you, dad?

Meliodas: Same; get a room, you two.

Said The father-son duo caused Gil and Margaret to turn red.
