Chapter 44

Last time we left off, King and Diane ended up encountering Drole and Gloxinia again before proceeding to have a battle with them, where they got completely overpowered by Gloxinia and Drole. That's when Gloxinia and Drole proposed to have King and Diane go through a trial that would make the duo stronger, which they accepted. It turns out that the trial was them going three thousand years into the past and living through it as Gloxinia and Drole. That's when the duo encountered the past Meliodas and a version of Elizabeth from the Godess clan before following them to a nearby village being attacked by the demon race. That's when the Calmadios of the Ten Commandments appeared before them.

We now see King and Diane standing off with Calmadios.

Diane: Where did Calmadios come from anyway?

King: Tch. I don't know, but we don't stand a chance against him.

Diane: Let's make a run for it!

That's when Meliodas chimed in.

Meliodas: No good.

Said Meliodas getting their attention.

Meliodas: You'll just be cursed by his Commandment. Don't run, no matter what.

Said Meliodas before dodging an attack from one of the gray demons and proceeding to lunge at it, resuming his battle.

King: That's easier said than done.

That's when Calmadios brought his club down on Diane, causing her to fall to the ground, creating a powerful shockwave that created a crater on the ground.

King: Tch. Don't you lay a finger on my Diane!

Exclaimed King, launching a spear made of magic at Calmadios, causing him to cough blood and stumble back, much to King's shock.

King: What the? 

Asked King before looking at his hand.

King: I see. This must be the fairy Kings true power.

Diane: King!

Called Diane causing King turn to the crater to see Diane lying there completely unharmed.

King: Diane! Are you okay!?

Diane: I'm fine. Ive got all this defensive power without relying on Heavy Metal. This is so amazing, I can't believe it.

King: We've got this. The way we are now we can hold our own.

Said King while Calmadios held his wound and coughed a little blood,

Calmadios: You'll pay for that, dammed Goddesses dogs.

We then cut back to the present, with Helbram trying to wake King up, but to no avail. That's when Gloxinia tells Helbram he will not be able to, as their souls are not in their bodies. Helbram is surprised Gloxinia could see him, and Gloxinia guesses it is because they are probably on the same wavelength, as both are fairies. He guesses Helbram is King's friend and explains that until King and Diane pass their trial, they will not be able to wake up.

We the cut back to the past with King preparing to attack Calmadios.

King: Spirit Spear Basquias, Second Configuration: Guardian, Necrosis!

Exclaimed King, causing Basquias to turn to its Guardian form and start stinging Calamdios arms with its stinger, poisoning them and leaving them unusable.

King: Diane, I sealed of his arms.

That's when Diane proceeded to make multiple signs with her hands.
