Last we left off, Meliodas engaged Gloxinia and Drole in battle, and as Mikaela was about to join him, he was teleported away to Liones, leaving him in shock. However, that didn't prove to be a problem at first due to Meliodas winning against the two commandments; however, before he could finish them off, the other commandments ended up arriving to assist their comrades. However, before they or Meliodas could do anything, Ian trapped them all in a giant, Perfect Cube and proceeded to reveal his identity. It was then that Ian ended up explaining his story and his goals to everyone, leaving them in complete shock and causing Meliodas and the Commandments to team up on him. However, it proved useless, as Ian ended up defeating them one by one. However, before he could finish Meliodas off, Mikaela ended up interfering, saving Meliodas. Mikaela then proceeded to reveal his new familiar to everyone, stopping Ian's attack and shocking everyone.

We know see everyone looking at Mikaela's familiar, which was called Tess, in shock and awe.

Howzer: Whoa.

Gil: A phoenix?

Jericho: This one doesn't look like a normal phoenix; it's blue. I've never heard of a blue phoenix before.

Gilfrost: That Phoenix is Tess.

Said Gilfrost in shock.

King: Wait, the Tess?

Asked King in shock.

King: The legendary king of the fire realm?

Gilfrost: The one and only.

Ban: I don't get it. What exactly is this, Tess?

King: To put it shortly, Tess is the king of the fire realm and one of the highest-ranking familiars out there, much like Ian's Chimaera. Only a few managed to actually form a contract with him, and even when they did, due to Tess's incredible power, none of his contractors were ever able to summon his full power.

Said King shocking everyone.

Ban: Whoa, and Mika managed to make him his familiar?

King: Apparently.

And while that was happening Elizabeth was looking at the fight with a worried expression.

Elizabeth: 'Please be careful, Mikaela'

We then cut back to the fight with Mikaela and Tess standing off with Ian who had an impressed smirk on his face.

Ian: 'So he managed to form a contract with Tess, huh? I've got to say that's pretty impressive. Many seasoned mages, like Monspeet, have tried to form a contract with it but failed, yet this kid managed to pull off what they couldn't. This kid is pretty talented; I'll give him that. He may not be able to now, but I have a feeling that he may be the first of Tess's contractors to summon his full power.' Guess it can't be helped.

Said Ian before snapping his fingers teleporting the Commandments away confusing Mikaela.

Mikaela: Huh?

Ian: I teleported them away. We can't have them interfering in our fight now, can we? Now, I must admit, though I don't want to drag you into this, I am curious to see how a Nephilim fights.

Said Ian causing Mikaela to smirk.

Mikaela: Ask, and you shall receive.

That's when Tess unleashed a powerful fire blast from its beak causing Ian to jump in the air to dodge the hit.

Ian: 'I have to be careful and minimize the times I get hit by those flames because not only are Tess's flames extremely hot, but they also have the ability to make whatever they touch heavier, which can get troublesome.'
