Chapter 66

Last we left off, the group ended up joining Mael and Escanor, with Escanor asking Mael to use Sunshine to help them in the battle, and even though Mael was reluctant at first, he ended up accepting the power and ended up entering the fight just as the Original Demon was gaining an advantage before proceeding to defeat him with one attack. Mael then ended up battling Zeldris while the others guarded Merlin until she could finish her incantation. Mael and Zeldris ended up having a close battle before Mael gained the advantage due to Zeldris being in a rush. However, that changed the second Mael questioned Zeldris for allowing his brother to become the Demon King, reigniting Zeldris's drive and allowing Zeldris to catch Mael off guard and slash his stomach before proceeding to attack the group. However, Mikaela intercepted him and proceeded to hold off Zeldris long enough for Merlin to finish the spell and freeze Meliodas's cocoon. However, their victory was short-lived, as the group soon realized that the cocoon was empty before a figure appeared behind them, which was an adult version of Meliodas. Zeldris simply laughed, saying that he'd hold Meliodas to his promise while calling home the Demon King.

We now see Meliodas standing before Elizabeth and the others in his new form as the others looked at him in shock.

Elizabeth: Meliodas...is that you?

Asked Elizabeth cautiously as Meliodas simply smiled at her.

Meliodas: Sorry for the trouble I caused you, Elizabeth, Mikaela. 

Said Meliodas before turning his gaze to the Seven Deadly Sins.

Meliodas: You too, Seven Deadly Sins!

Said Meliodas before turning to Hawk.

Meliodas: And you, little freak.

Said the Meliodas much to Hawk's confusion.

Hawk: Freak?

Asked Hawk as in confusion as Meliodas never once  called him that. That's when Mikaela landed between Elizabeth and the smiling Meliodas while narrowing his eyes.

Mikaela: You're not dad, are you?

Asked Mikaela as Elizabeth also narrows her eyes.

Elizabeth: That's right. Who are you?

Asked Elizabeth, shocking Diane, Escanor, and Gowther, while King, Merlin, Gloxinia, and Drole narrowed their eyes at the unknown person. And while that was happening, Zeldris proceeded to weakly get on his knees.

Zeldris: Melio...das...! I kept...my promise. Now it's your turn to keep...yours! Tell me...where Gelda and Yue are.

Said Zeldris hoping to finally get the location of his wife and daughter to finally reunite with them however he was shocked by what the unknown person said next.

??: Zeldris. Is your heart still bound to that bloodsucking woman and that filth hybrid girl? Meliodas and Ian are one thing, but you're just the same... all three of you disgust me!

Said the person causing Zeldris to gasp in shock, he recognized the person talking to him through Meliodas's body from his tone while also allowing the others to confirm that that truly wasn't Meliodas.

Diane: The way he's talking... That really isn't the captain, is it?

Hawk: He never once called me a freak before!

Elizabeth: I knew it.

Said Elizabeth while sweating nervously 

Merlin: Big sis-sis...this is bad.

Gloxinia: You have got to be kidding me!

Drole: It seems we can't rest easy yet.

Ludociel: I've never dreamed I'd meet the man himself.
