Chapter 54

Last we left off, the Seven Deadly Sins ended up fighting Chandler, and though they managed to push Chandler back, their strength was not enough to defeat him at full power. When all hope seemed lost, Shikama Dōji took over Mikaela's body and ended up fighting Chandler and completely overpowering him. After that, Ian ended up sending an illusion of himself to talk to Shikama Dōji and try to learn his goal, though Shikama Dōji ended up not answering him, causing Ian to simply leave. Meanwhile, King and Dian ended up having a conversation with Drole and Gloxinia, with the latter duo telling them that they should not let this defeat hold them back, for they have the potential to surpass even them. After that, Shikama Dōji ended up returning to the Boar Hat, where everyone was waiting for him.

We then see an unconscious Merlin regaining consciousness in Elizabeth's arms.

Elizabeth: Merlin?

Merlin: Big sis-sis.

Elizabeth: Oh, you finally come to.

Merlin: What in the world happened?

Esacnor: You were knocked out cold I'm afraid.

Said Escanor with tears in her eyes.

Merlin: Now I can remember that's right. I was trying to retrieve something. I'm a crystal orb for the Absolute Cancel spell. I couldn't withstand the blow that hit the tavern, and I was slammed against the wall.

Said Merlin before abruptly getting up.

Merlin: Was that mage defeated!?

Elizabeth: Yeah, when all hope seemed lost, Shikama Dōji ended up taking over Mikaela's body and driving the demon away, though not for long.

Said Elizabeth while turning to the unconscious Mikaela lying on the ground next to Meliodas as Merlin turned her attention to him.

Merlin: Is that so?

That's when Hawk chimed in

Hawk: Though we aren't all okay, that demon did a number on poor Gowther over there.

Said Hawk turning to the unconscious Gowther.

Merlin: So, he actually defied Absolute Order by force? What a risky move if he were a human he would have died instantly. And I can see that he put you through hell too, Diane.

Said Merlin noting Diane's size as  Hawk walked over to her.

Hawk: Bet even I can take you out right now.

Said Hawk huffing at her causing her to punch him away.

Diane:Never mind me, what about you, Merlin? I mean, never in a million years would I have assumed that your true form was such a cute girl.

Merlin: I know it's so humiliating, so before I do something else, I definitely need to recover my sealed magic power.

Escanor: Huh? You're changing back already?

Asked Escanor in disappointment causing Merlin to turn to him with and angry expressions which caused him to blush in embarrassment.

That's when Gloxinia walked in.

Gloxinia: Ah. So you're awake.

Said Gloxinia causing Merlin to turn to him in shock.

Merlin: Fairy King Gloxinia? What are you doing here?

Gloxinia: We first came here to help hold off Chandler, but thanks to Mikaela or his goddess side, Shikama Dōji, our help wasn't needed, so we decided to help escort you to safety since I doubt Chandler will stay away for long.
