Chapter 67

Last time we left off, it was revealed that the Demon King had possessed Meliodas's body due to his absorbing the Commandants' horror. The group would then try to fight the Demon King, but he would easily blow them away, prompting Mikaela to ask Shikama Dōji to forcefully remove more of his seal, giving Mikaela the power to stand up against the Demon King. That's when Ban arrived, and together he and Mikaela fought the Demon King from the outside while Meliodas fought him from the inside, giving them the advantage as the Demon King couldn't fight the duo and Meliodas at the same time. However, the Demon King would then trick Meliodas into believing Elizabeth died, causing him to drop his guard and giving the Demon King enough power to get the advantage against Ban and Mikaela. However, that's when the Seven Deadly Sins and Elizabeth would enter Meliodas's mind, giving Meliodas the strength to fight back against the Demon King while Mael, Ludociel, Gloxinia, and Drole protected their bodies. In a bid to defeat the group, the Demon King transformed his claws into a creature to attack them, but Zeldris intervened, destroying both forms. In retaliation, the Demon King launched a bolt of energy at Zeldris, injuring him. This act enraged Mikaela and Ban, fueling their assault and allowing them to land multiple vicious blows on the Demon King. Inside, Meliodas launched his Trillion Dark attack, weakening the Demon King further. Desperate, the Demon King tried to kill himself while still inhabiting Meliodas's body, a move that would have ended Meliodas's life as well. The Seven Deadly Sins intervened, managing to hold the Demon King in place long enough for Mikaela to deliver the finishing blow. This forced the Demon King out of Meliodas's body, allowing Meliodas to return to normal.

We know see Mael holding up Ludociel ,who finally ran out of strength, with Hendrickson, Gloxinia, and Drole looking on in sadness. That's when Hendrickson turned to Gloxinia.

Hendrickson: Lord Gloxinia, wouldn't itbe possible for you to use the Droplet Of Life on him?

Asked Hendrickson causing Gloxinia to shake his head.

Gloxinia: I'm sorry, but not even the Droplet Of Life could heal this.

Said Gloxinia causing Hendrickson to look down.

That's when Ludociel spoke getting their attention.

Ludociel: Tell me...what happened. For I...cannot see.

Mael: It's all over, brother. The Demon King is gone. The threat is over. And it's all thanks to his help.

Said Mael while turning to the Seven Deadly Sins, Mikaela, Elizabeth, Hawk, who were gathered around Meliodas who was being hugged by Mikaela and Elizabeth.

Drole: That's right, the Seven Deadly Sins did what no one has ever done before.

Ludociel: You're too optimistic. Just because they defeated the Demon King doesn't mean that the Holy War is over and that the threat is gone.

Said Ludociel causing Gloxinia to sigh in sadness.

Gloxinia: That's right. I'm not trying to downplay this moment, but a threat that's arguably greater than the Demon King is still out here.

Said Gloxinia as Ludociel grew a serious expression.

Ludociel: That's right, Archmage Ian is still out there making preparations to achieve his goal, and with the Planetary Alignment arriving in four days, he's closer than ever to achieving his goal of unleashing Knull and destroying the world.

Said Ludociel before proceeding to turn to the Seven Deadly Sins who turned their attention to him.

Ludociel: Lady Elizabeth, Seven Deadly Sins, and Mikaela I would have liked to remain longer here in order to assist you with Ian, but alas, I'm out of time. All I can do is leave the rest in your hands. You have just achieved the first step in Goddesses and Demons coming together after hating each other for so long.
