Chapter 56

Last we left off, the group ended up freeing the captured citizens of Liones thanks to Merlin making a deal with Zeldris, though she didn't need to follow her end of the deal because Ludociel, who took over Margaret's body, blasted him. After that, the group returned to Liones, where they encountered Ludociel, Sariel, and Tarmiel and ended up forming an alliance with them. While that was happening, Ian, who saw the light blades cross from his base, proceeded to finish the weapon he was building, which turned out to be some sort of armor. After that, Elizabeth and Mikaela had a talk, where Mikaela ended up letting all his feelings out, his fears and insecurities. Elizabeth listened silently before proceeding to comfort him, saving Mikaela's spirit from breaking, before proceeding to engage in a conversation as they talked about multiple topics, slowly building their mother-son bond.

We now see Elizabeth looking out a window with a determined expression

Elizabeth: 'Wait for us, Meliodas.'

We then cut to Mikaela walking through the castles halls as he was thinking about what Elizabeth said to him.

Elizabeth: 'I noticed the resentment that you feel towards yourself for all that's happened, but none of what happened is your fault. You shouldn't hate yourself for any of this. Just as we love you, you too should love yourself.'

Mikaela:...

We then cut to the tavern with King and Diane watching over Elaine with Diane resting her head on King's shoulder as King wrapped his lest arm around her.

King: Captain, Ban, hurry back; we really need you here with us.

We then cut to Merlin's lab with her repairing Gowther's body 

Merlin: Since I'm repairing you, I thought I'd throw some modifications into the mix, but since you're built so well, there is no room for improvement.

Gowther: Hey, Merlin I have a favor to ask of you.

Said Gowther causing Merlin to turn to his head which was on the table.

Merlin: Oh, and what would that be? Don't ask me for the impossible, like a performance boost—assuming that you just heard what I said, of course.

Gowther: Like Ian said, that little one catches on to things with incredible speed; her learning skills are almost as good as Ian's; her powers will be astounding.

Said Gowther surprising Merlin.

Gowther: Those are some things that Gowther and Ian used to say in praise of you.

Said Gowther causing Merlin to relent.

Merlin: What do you have in mind? I'm listening, but remember, no guarantees, alright? 

Asked Merlin causing Gowther to smile.

Gowther: I appreciate it.

Said Gowther before saying something that caused Merlin to widen her eyes in  shocked 

Merlin: Are you insane? Is that really what you want to do?

Asked Merlin causing him to nod.

Merlin: Wait a second, is this related to our conversation? Over drinks that night, you mentioned the God of the Ten Commandments ending the holy war.

Said Merlin causing Gowther's smile to widen.

we then cut to the city with Hawk and  Escanor talking about Meliodas and Elizabeth , Escanor wants to know what he thinks about Merlin's opinion on him. But Hawk tells him he should ask her himself.

We then cut to the castle with the Four Arcangles still in the party with most of the Holy Knights who were drunk. Ludociel laments that after years, humans still use alcohol. Once he heals himself, he feels his familiar presence. He discovers it belongs to Escanor, so he confronts him, asking who he is. Escanor introduces himself as Lion's Sin of Pride from Seven Deadly Sins, and he tells him they already met last night, causing Ludociel to wonder how he hid his magical power last night, causing Escanor to reveal that his power doesn't manifest at night. That's when Ludociel proceeded to attack Escanor, asking who he stole the power he calls a "curse" from confusing Escanor, and after a brief discussion, Ludociel revealed that Escanor's power comes from a grace, powers created by the Supreme Deity, that is akin to a commandment. After explaining his partners' graces and his own, he reveals the fourth was called Sunshine, which was once possessed by Ludociel's young brother, Mael.
