Chapter 31

Last we left off, Mikaela was engaging in a battle with Asuramaru, a battle he was losing. However, hearing Asuramaru's stories about the king and the horse increased Mikaela's drive for victory, and slowly but surely, he started adapting to Asuramaru's moves. However, as the fight's intensity was reaching its maximum, Mikaela found himself reaching his limits, causing him to resolve to end the fight with a single strike. While that was happening, King, questioning Meliodas's motive, decided to fight and interrogate him.

We know see Asuramaru flying towards Mikaela with Mikaela descending on him, and that's when the two clashed, creating a powerful shockwave. As the two struggled for dominance against each other, something unexpected happened that completely caught Asuramaru off guard.

*crack*

A crack began appearing on Asuramaru's blade leaving him completely and utterly shocked.

Asuramaru: What!?

Mikaela: 'Now!'

Thought Mikaela putting more force into his attack and while that was happening we cut to Shikama Dōji was looking on with a smirk forming on his face.

Shikama Dōji: It looks like Mikaela's plan is finally coming into effect. I don't blame Asuramaru for not noticing this since he was mostly focused on the fight; however, I did. For a while now, Mikaela has been relentlessly attacking a specific point on Asuramaru's blade over and over again, something that Asuramaru has failed to pick up on. Mikaela knew from the beginning that he wouldn't be able to beat Asuramaru in a contest of strength, so instead, he opted for this approach. By attacking the same point on Asuramaru's sword over and over, he was slowly chipping away at its durability, especially at that specific point, to prepare for this moment. I have to give it to him; that is impressive. To pull something like that off, you need remarkable precision and unwavering focus, something that a lot of people lack.

We cut back to the fight with the two struggling for dominance against each other as the crack on Asuramaru's blade started to slowly grow.

Mikaela: Now! Star Breaker!

Exclaimed Mikaela coating Soulreaver with Ark which he used to create a blade out of light coating Soulreaver's blade increasing the power of his attack and causing the crack on Asuramaru's blade to grow.

Asuramaru: Damn it! I won't let you!

Exclaimed Asuramaru, coating his sword in Hellblaze, as he started to push back as two then started roaring at each other and pushing with all their might against one another.

Mikaela: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!

Asuramaru: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!

Mikaela: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!

Asuramaru: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!

Mikaela/ Asuramaru: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!

The two continued fighting for dominance; however, after a few seconds, Mikaela managed to prevail through sheer willpower and cut through Asuramaru's blade, slashing Asuramaru, who was unable to defend, causing him to cough blood. Shikama Dōji who saw this smiled while closing his eyes.

Shikama Dōji: It's over.

Asuramaru then fell to the ground and looked up to see Mikaela standing over him and pointing Soulreaver at his throat while breathing heavily.

Mikaela: It's over.

We then cut back to the real world with Ban, Zhivago, and Jericho with Zhivago unable to believe that Ban here. Ban asks him why he didn't tell him that he was a werefox. Zhivago says that he was afraid Ban wouldn't look at him the same way. Jericho starts to cry because she's just so glad that they found each other. Zhivago asks if Jericho is Ban's girlfriend to which he replies no. Jericho asks what she is then and Ban says his wallet or little sister. Jericho asks if he even had a little sister. Ban says he did but she died when she was four. Zhivago asks Ban how he can look like he's twenty years old if he's sure to be at least forty. Ban tells him that he drank from the fountain he told him about as a kid. That he won't grow old or die. Zhivago remembers when he told Ban the story about the fountain of youth. He's shocked to learn that such a thing exists because when he told Ban he thought it was nothing more than a fairy tale. Zhivago asks Ban if there really was a saint guarding it and Ban says that she died and that's he wants to bring her back more than anything.
