Last time we left off, Mikaela and Ian ended up having a battle with their familiars backing them up, and though it was a close battle, Tess managed to beat Chimera. Mikaela ended up losing after Ian decided to use one of his trump cards, leaving Mikaela incapacitated and allowing Ian to kill Meliodas, though not before Meliodas apologized to Ian and revealed that he didn't hate Meliodas for what happened. Upon seeing his father die before his eyes, Mikaela started crying in anguish. She nearly had a mental breakdown, though Elizabeth managed to stop it from getting worse.
It's been about a month since the battle where Ian killed Meliodas, and everyone began dispersing all over Britannia to combat the Ten Commandments. We now see Ian walking in a cave while holding a compass-like artifact.
Ian: It should be somewhere around here.
That's when the Compass began spinning before proceeding to point at a certain direction causing Ian to smirk.
Ian: There.
Said Ian before holding his palm towards the location as a magical circle appeared there before the magic circle started slowly unraveling.
Ian: So far, things are going well. All that's left is to lay the groundwork, and while I don't want to resort to this, I have no choice. I'm not strong enough to go through with my plan.
Said Ian as the magic circle unraveled before blowing up the ground in that area. Ian then proceeded to walk over to the small crater.
Ian: I told everyone during the battle that I didn't remember what I did after Katherine died; however, that was a lie. I remember exactly what happened. I remember exactly how I massacred the five races that day. It seems Katherine's death was the finale straw that released a dark version of myself, a version of myself so ruthless that it caused Father and the Supreme Deity to lock it away.
Said Ian before putting his hand in the crater and grabbing a red orb.

We then cut to Mikaela's inner world, where it was raining heavily as Shikama Dōji and Asuramaru looked at the rain with Shikama Dōji's hood on.
Shikama Dōji: I really hate the rain whenever Mikaela's sad or whenever his heart is in chaos. It rains here so easily; it was raining the day we where we first came to be.
